Post to be updated tonight or tomorrow with rules and whatnot. Sign-ups open now anyway. Apologies to BMX, but IX comes before X. ;)
This is a game for 17 players. Is it possible to muster that many right now? We'll find out!
Everyone will have a power role. The roles will generally be simple, like those found in regular Mafia games.
Subject to change, I will probably use short, bankable deadlines. Comment below if you have suggestions. I am thinking an initial length of 2-3 weeks with each night adding like 3-5 days.
The game setup will be quite different than the usual. This is the main reason why I am qualifying it as Bastard. But it will still be as playable as a regular game. The point is not to confuse or overwhelm you with zany events and effects.
IF YOU WISH TO SIGN UP then post an /in message here and PM me with a suggestion of what power and alignment you want in this game. There are no guarantees that you will get it because I have the setup laid out already. There is some flexibility, but not much. And again, the roles available are all simple. If you request a ridiculous overpowered role, you will not get it.

for now at least. this doesn't look like it will start for a while so I think it is probably safe to say that either the newbie game or DS9 will be over by the time this starts (or I am dead).

Can everyone confirm in thread if they are still in? We are only missing one player. If everyone is in, I can start figuring out how to assign people to the game setup and what tweaks I can do to accommodate requests. And I can probably make it work for 16.

You know, 20 games ago, I would buy that argument. Now? Each game is different. I've seen very forward scum. I've seen shadowy scum. I've seen d1 fakeclaiming masons scum, and I've seen scum that absolutely refuse to participate in claims.
Getting tied into "scum like to hide I'm the shadows" is a death trap for scum. Scum evolves. We've played enough games to no longer rule anything out.

Hey guys, please note that order of sign up played no part in how roles were assigned. I waited for everyone to sign up and then I tried to satisfy as many as possible. If you gave second or third choices, or became more likely for you to get those of someone else requested only your first choice, regardless of sign up order. So don't try to guess role assignments based on sign up order or anything. It won't work.

sparky is still missing, so I am going to seek a replacement. If sparky returns before a replacement is found, he can certainly stay in. I just don't want to keep delaying this game.
