Title: For Sale Express (a Double Submission Game - Cancelled)
Post by: mith on December 14, 2012, 07:08:14 pm
This is a compressed version of the classic auction filler, For Sale (http://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/172/for-sale).

In the first round, you will be bidding simultaneously on five lots of properties. Each player will have $14 to bid. You do not have to use all of your available money, and any leftover will carry over to the final scoring. Once the bids are in, whoever bid the most on a lot gets the highest valued property within that lot, and so on to the lowest bid. The properties are valued from 1-30.

Tiebreakers:
1. Lowest "tiebreaker score". When ties are resolved, each player involved in the tie will receive tiebreaker points equal to the the difference in value of the property they received and the highest valued property plus the difference in the value of the property they received and the lowest valued property.
2. If the tiebreaker scores are equal, whoever signed up earlier (determined by posting in this thread) will win the tiebreaker.

Example: Lot 1 contains properties 3, 9, 10, 17, 22, 29. Players A-F bid $2, $5, $3, $3, $2, and $3 respectively. Played B receives property 29 for bidding the most. Players C, D, and F all tie for properties 10, 17, and 22, and since this is the first lot they all have a tiebreaker score of 0. As the first to sign up, player C receives property 22 and a tiebreaker score of (22-22) + (22-10) = 12. Player D receives property 17 and a tiebreaker score of (17-22) + (17-10) = 2. Player F receives property 10 and a tiebreaker score of (10-22) + (10-10) = -12. Players A and E tie for the last two properties, and player A receives property 9 with a tiebreaker score of 6, while player E receives property 3 with a tiebreaker score of -6.

In the second round, you will again be bidding simultaneously, this time offering one of your properties in each of five markets; the highest valued property in a market gets the biggest check, and so on. The checks are valued 0 and 2-15, with two of each check.

To join, post here and then send me your submission for round 1.

Your score at the end of the game is the sum of the values of the checks won in the second round and any leftover money.

Not enough interest here I guess. I'll give it one more day and then cancel.
