Title: Set-based puzzle, for a change.
Post by: Sakako on November 13, 2012, 11:57:49 am
Alchemy has two.
Base set has (arguably) seven.
Cornucopia has five.
Dark Ages has nine.

How many do the other sets have?

Guess: this is referring to new card types first introduced in the set. I didn't check this carefully; I'm pretty sure that alchemy doesn't fit the way I have this worded and I think the others do fit. If that's right, then seaside has just one (action-duration), intrigue has two (action-victory and treasure-victory), prosperity has zero, hinterlands has two (fool's gold, tunnel).

So Base would be
Action
Action-Reaction
Action-Attack
Treasure
Victory
Curse

and aguably
Reaction
Attack
not Curse

Alchemy was claimed to not fit
Cornucopia has
Action-Prize
Treasure-Prize
Action-Attack-Prize
??
??

and DA
Action-Looter
Action-Attack-Looter
Action-Ruins
Action-Attack-Knight
Action-Attack-Victory-Knight
Action-Shelter
Victory-Shelter
Reaction-Shelter
??

Something with non-kingdom cards?

Base: Estate,Duchy,Province,Curse,Copper,Silver,Gold.  Don't see where to argue there, but anyway
Alchemy: Potion. ... ... ... . . . .     .      .
Cornucopia: 5 Prizes
DA: 5 Ruins, 1 Spoils, 3 Shelters ...  and probably Madman and Mercenary .. .. ..

Ok, forget about this. How about Non-potion price points

Base: 0,2,3,4,5,6,8 Don't see where to argue there, but anyway...
Alchemy: 2,5  non-Potion is kind of artificial, but we need two of them
Corncopia: 2,3,4,5,6  ... and 0*, but those are not in the supply, can exclude them
DA: 1,2,3,4,5,6 ... .. .   .  0* ^^ .. .  ..    .

Nope, you haven't got it yet.

As extra clues:

Hinterlands has 5.
The cards in Alchemy which are important are Golem and Herbalist.

I think I have it, and I'm just trying to work out what the counts for the other sets are. Just to check, Promo Cards have one at best?

EDIT: Actually, scratch that. By the solution I thought I had, Alchemy has 4.

Another extra clue:

The promo cards have precisely 1.

So what is it?  I thought I had it, but by my count Cornucopia has 7 and the base set has 10, so that's not it...

The puzzle was the number of cards in each set with people in the background. :3

Ah, I wasn't too far off then -- I thought it was number of cards depicting more than one person.

Yeah, very close, but for example, Militia doesn't count. Anyway. Good guesses all around. :)

Do you look for interactive cards?

Interactive cards? What do you mean?

I realized this was the wrong answer. Interactive cards affect the other players. But this cannot be the correct answer as the promos only have one, and Governor and Envoy would fit that category.
