It used to be the case that when theory posted an article on the main page, noobs had a chance to ask rules questions or comments about basic strategic interactions via the comments. With the wiki, there doesn't seem to be like a good place for questions and comments like that.
Maybe it's fine, we still have the blog and the forum after all. Perhaps trying to squeeze discussion like features into wiki format is worse than simple refusing to do so. But it would be nice if there was one canonical source to rule them all. Maybe we should encourage noobs to post questions in the talk page? I don't know.

I also thought about the talk page, but I think that it is not a good place. First, it's also used for discussion of the page, and second it's not very visible. First one can be mitigated I think by just introducing a "Comments" page (should be possible) and is not that important after all. But not being visible is severe it think.
Maybe an collasable/expandle comments section directly on the page? I mean, it's obviously possible to discuss on a wiki, see delete-discussions on wikipedia. Not sure how accesible this is for an outsider. But if you had a section where it is directly visible that is encourage to post comments/questions that would (maybe) not fit on the 'official' page, and maybe already some of us posting some comments there to break the ice, I could imagine that this works.

Wiki probably isn't a good place for discussion. People don't usually browse "recent changes" to see new comments and things. Discussion and questions should be directed to the forums I think.
-
I think it has been suggested that we add something like the Reference Desk of Wikipedia.
-
I think having a RefDesk-like page for strategy questions is one good option, the other being to just link back here. I know approximately nothing about coding-voodoo, but is there any way to tie forum and wiki logins together (and if so, is it still possible given the number of unconnected logins already existing)? Alternatively, you could look at how WikiNews deals with allowing comments on articles, but I think that only really works well in situations where more recent articles are most likely to be discussed.

The wiki isnt replacing the blog though is it?
The blog will still be the first place people will go too, and then get transferred to the wiki

I can help set up that Ref Desk if there is community consensus. And if so, I need a name..."Reference Desk" doesn't sound good for this kind of wiki.

Just for the informed discussion, some thoughts on what a bot could do when we would decide to have some sort of discussion/comments on the wiki.
It should be possible to let it manage some sort of "recent comments" page.
* Transfer new entries from a possible Comments-section of a page to a central Comments-page, where people can reply and find comments without browsing "Recent Changes" or all pages
* Maybe also back from there to the individual pages
* Delete/archive old stuff from the comments page (not that standard, but I have an idea how that might work)
Other and probably less of a hacky probability would maybe (that's not my territory anymore, TwiNight?) to have a Comments-template that automatically also shows up on a central page? So that to add a Comment on a page, you add some {{Comment|Text xyz}} and that automatically also shows up on a page [[Comments]].
Still not sure if comments on the wiki is still the way to go, but I can imagine that is an additon to the pages not just have the "official" article, but also some not so polished ideas. Would also maybe lower the entry-boundary, that you don't have to edit in someone elses work and change that, therefore thinking that your contribution must be really really worthy, but just can add some ideas in an "inofficial" section below.

Yes that was me. Just started it up here: http://wiki.dominionstrategy.com/index.php/Help:Discussion (http://wiki.dominionstrategy.com/index.php/Help:Discussion)
Needs to be spiffier though, I think. Too tired to work on it anymore tonight.

I'll take over form there then.
EDIT:
Added a "New section" link and wrote up some basic guidelines
Do you guys want the normal "Edit" link go away?
Anyone can still edit that full page by "?action=edit", I can even make the link visible to admins only (though this does not prevent normal users from editing)
May update the guideline by copying WP:RD later

Looks great, TwiNight! :D

"Council Room" would be so appropriate, but it is taken. Sort of.

Isn't it taken twice, as in CR.com and a Goko lobby?

I wasn't aware of the lobby! Haven't checked in there in ages.

I am moving it
edit: or should I move it to Project:Council Room? It is not only for getting help.
edit2: and New To Dominion -> Help:New To Dominion?
