University and City once again work together to devastating effect:

(The presence of Wharf in the tableau helped a great deal, of course.)

It's a nice game, but some very questionable play by your opponent. ;)
That being said, multiple Universities are a no-brainer when there are so many dominating $5 cards. This is especially true in the case of Wharf , which only leads to drawing more Universities, which in turn leads to playing more Wharves. Even $4 cards like Caravan combine well. Donald X certainly met his goal when he wanted action cards from Alchemy to be worth going out of your way for on their own.

I have been beaten by a Uni/City deck with no other good $5 cards. I underestimated the speed of which my opponent could clear the City pile and probably played terribly besides.

Another fun University game (http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201106/16/game-20110616-180613-942daca9.html). My opponent made the perfect pile-emptying move...
...or so he thought. 8)

I think University/City would work only if there are other good terminals (e.g., Swindler or Monument or Wharf) or if you couldn't consistently hit $5 for some reason (e.g., Mountebank). Otherwise, is it that much faster than just buying the Cities directly?

I like this combo.

Universities w/ Vineyards is a lot of fun. One of the rare board elements that will make me consider going multiple potions.

Not at the start, but the first time your City draws a second Uni, you're suddenly way ahead.

University is also great with City for activating City and playing it in the same turn. In many cases buying the last one gives your opponent first shot at a City mega-turn but University can bypass that risk.
