It may seem a little silly for me to introduce myself now, after almost a full year of active forum membership, but I'm starting a new chapter in my life, so why not?
I am Robz888. The 8's are a tribute to my birthdate, which is 8-8-88 (coolest thing about me right there). Around these parts, I am probably best known as the most frequent mafia player, having participated in every Forum Game since the inception of this board here on f.ds. I am proud to say that my enthusiasm for mafia has made me no less enthusiastic for Dominion, which I still very much enjoy playing and discussing. I like Big Money and alt-VP strategies, and prefer the sets that compliment this kind of play: Hinterlands and Intrigue. My favorite card is probably Silk Roads, but I have a host of other sort-of favorites, like Governor, Haggler, Duke, Masquerade, Scrying Pool, and Crossroads.

In real life, my name is Robby, and I am a writer and journalist. I have lived most of my life in Michigan, but as of next week, I am moving to Washington, D.C. to start a new writing job. And here comes my secret, ulterior motive to making an Intro post: I am currently apartment hunting, and if anybody here has any leads, they would be much appreciated! All things being equal, I would prefer to live with people who play Dominion, after all.

Unfortunately, I don't think the D.C. metro has added stops in London, Japan, or werothegreat's 3-hours-away place. But thank you for the moral support!
I did live in D.C. for a couple weeks two years ago, and it was great. But my housing was provided for me then...

At the time I put myself on the map, I thought everybody was going to do a headshot, because the only other person's I checked was rrenaud, and he did. And now with like 100 people, we are still the only two I think, and I feel foolish. But thanks for the compliment!!

Cool! I'm in San Diego too! Well, on most weekends I am.
If we find another San Diegan besides those already on the f.ds map I'll want to try and set up a f.ds San Diego meetup or something.

Happy birthday! And welcome to DC! It is a great place.
I would be glad to help you apartment hunt, but I don't know anyone looking for a roommate at the moment. I can give you some advice, though. How well do you know DC geography? It would help to know whether you are looking to live in the city or in the suburbs, what kind of budget you have, if you need to live near a metro, etc. Feel free to PM me and we talk over email if you would prefer.
And you're welcome to let me know when you're in town. I live in the Adams Morgan area and lived in Dupont for about 5 years before that. I can show you around when you get here, or get you lunch or a drink. We can even play dominion (though my regular gaming group consists of a few couples with little babies so that might not be your speed).

And you're a Giants fan, ostensibly; I find that great. I'm from South Dakota, did college in Vermont, and now live in Atlanta, but love the Giants. I like it when they come out to play here, so I can show up in all my Giants' gear and cheer for the opposing team; other attendees do not like it so much. Missed it this summer though, I was visiting someone when the Giants came through.
