This is pretty sweet.

I think this subforum might be getting big enough for us to want to make some rules/guidelines about when it's appropriate to put up your signup thread.

We can probably add Cosmic Encounter II and III to open games, though it only needs one more player, so I'm not sure if it's worth changing this page.

We should probably start identifying the next small / mid size game and getting this updated.  MXII feels like its around 1/2 way.

I'm tempted to run a Switch 13p game or a Modified version of "No Lynchin VT's" setup for 13p but I don't want to jump the queue.

Leaning towards switch that sounds like a fun game.

In switch, is the status of the switches known?

From my interpretation the mafia switches know the state of their switch. But they are informed during the day so that the other members do not know. The SK has no idea on if the switch is on or off.

I'm wrong the correct interpretation is each night the switch is on. The mafia have the ability to turn it off, and the SK has the ability to "not" the decision. Neither the mafia nor the SK know what actually happened with the switch.

What are you guys talking about?

I'm talking about modding a 13 player game of Switch. where there are 3 power roles, and 3 mafia switches.
The power roles are ON each night by default, each member of the mafia may OFF the role if they do they cannot perform a kill.
The Serial Killer can flip ANY number of the 13 flips but he doesn't know if the mafia also flicked the switch.
If the power role is off it is roleblocked for the night. Otherwise it works. The Serial Killer can be Mafia immune or town immune.

The game has a nightstart.

So - I would assume that optimal strategy for SK would be to randomly switch all 3.  This should result in 1.5 active power roles, regardless of mafia intent.

Unless they need to co-ordinate in the end to have a tie or something.

Once the switchholder dies, what happens?

The SK can still flip it. The mafia cannot. If the SK dies the mafia know what the outcome is and if the switch dies the SK knows he has full control of it.

PRs do not, but that only matters for the doctor.

What is the status of the Queue? I have a Ozle special style game I'm working on.
But it wont be run if there are people on too many games (might have a limit that if you are in more than one or two games currently you cannot join mine)

Half these games people are inactive just because there are so many people in them and not enough time.

So I've been working up a full Buffyverse skinned game, 13 players, mostly normal and based on C9++, but with a few tweaks for flavor.  Nothing that would be considered bastard.

New games get vetted in this thread before getting tossed out for sign ups?  We've got ongoing and soon to start, so this would be in the future, possibly MXVIII?

Who okays these things?

So I've been working up a full Buffyverse skinned game, 13 players, mostly normal and based on C9++, but with a few tweaks for flavor.  Nothing that would be considered bastard.

New games get vetted in this thread before getting tossed out for sign ups?  We've got ongoing and soon to start, so this would be in the future, possibly MXVIII?

Who okays these things?

There is a Queue thread somewhere on this page of people who want to Mod I believe.

Grujah - Can we get an update to page one?  Can't speak for the regular games, but Blitz 2 is done and town won.

No, I was clicking the link in post #45, supplied by Frisk.  Which is what I did the other day, when it worked fine.

Now the same thing (a page with no text on it) comes up when I click on your link in your re-post of the link. (in #83).  I've changed no other variables.

Use my repost of Ozles SFS, if noone puts them in url tags it leaves off the last closing paren.

Ok, that worked, so now I need to educate myself.  What are "url tags".  The links are identical, I've compared them character by character.  Are the tags some embedded property?

And why would clicking on Frisk's link several days ago have worked then, and not now?

Edit: to add second question.

When you post a link here you put URL in square brackets []. If you post on quicktopic it's either <URL> or <a href=www.google.ca> not sure if they use actual HTML or if its a modified version

Don't feel bad. I'm completely in the same boat. I don't understand 10% of what these people say. I still have no clue how to add a link to a word, or any of that fun stuff. And I've no idea why links suddenly up and die for no reason. It's all foreign to me.

so for some reason the last parentheses in that link isn't hypertext, so it's linking you to a nonexistent page on the wiki.

click that link, type a closing parenthesis on the end the url in your search bar, and it will get you where you want to go.

To turn a URL into an active link, type it like this:

[url]http://www.google.ca[/url]

which results in this:

http://www.google.ca (http://www.google.ca)

To turn a word into an active link, type it like this:

[url=http://www.google.ca]Google[/url]

which results in this:

Google (http://www.google.ca)

Thanks for the help.  I just made a post in the Mafia Queue thread where I cut and pasted a webpage address into the post, with no further action, and it became a live, accurate link.

Oh hey, that does indeed work.  Forum shortcuts!  But now you know how to attach links to words. :)

/out.  I hate holding people up if I'm not around for my turn, and 3-4 weeks was way too long for that game.  Blitz mode maybe!

What would a timeline look like for that? 6 hours for tokens? Default to no use, bet 0, take wound? Declare CO's for after roll tokens in the 6 hours? (ie 6 hours for ALL actions)

I think you'd just all agree to get online for 30 minutes at a certain part of the day.

By the time I saw any of the subsequent games they were all filled up.
