Greetings!
I looked a bit and haven't found any [semi]-official statements on whether Dominion will be removed from BSW when the FunSockets version becomes available. Anyone have any "inside info" here?
-
Is there an official version coming out? Is Isotropic going down when it does?
In all seriousness, I haven't heard anything at all. But then I don't reallly know why you would want to play on BSW over FunSockets. ;)
-
I think Donald said they will take it away. After all, they have to pay BSW to host it, and why should they do this when they can just let people play on their own server for promo...

Thanks much for that link, and sorry for not tracking it down on my own before posting :).

That does not answer the question at all. And where someone wants to play dominion is his choice... Not a very usefull post.
Donald said it would go down, yes. But there was no official announcement.
-
First of all: if people didn't really get that my whole post was mostly a joke, I don't know how to get that across... Secondly: Where people want to play dominion is entirely up to them. I still don't get why one would rather play on BSW, and I really mean that, and if anyone would want to explain that to me, I'd be willing to listen. Thirdly: Reposting what has allready been said just two posts above, and quoted in the post direcly above doesn't really add anything either.
Oh and the thirdly part wasn't really meant to be taken seriously. I'm just messing around.

howdy! we actually have a forum FAQ (http://forum.dominionstrategy.com/index.php?topic=1994.msg87213#msg87213) which would have answered your question and maybe a few others.

I thought that BSW's version was "illegal" to start because it used the copyrighted images and that RGG and/or DXV just let them be, because they didn't have their own version.
Once the Funsockets version comes out, BSW will likely get asked to take it down or get a C&D order.

I think that was BGA's version. They later got permission to add Intrigue but without images.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't they LICENSED to do this. Like, didn't RGG or someone PAY them?
-
WanderingWinder is right. BSW gets money from either HansImGlück (German Dominion publisher) or RGG.
And the reason why people would want to play there is that there are other games there too.
-
So instead of BSW paying for the license, they were paid to host Dominion?
-
Yes. So that the game gets more attention and is sold more often.
