Hey, here's a silly question. What does V/LA mean? I basically understand no acronyms ever, and often get confused by abbreviations.
Sidenote: the abbreviation for Ambassador sucks; it doesn't even get split where the syllables split, that goes against all logic and some illogic as well. Illogic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Illogic)

Did you have so much fun reporting on the election? In 2008 I was reporting from the McCain watch party and really enjoyed it. The food was great, the atmosphere was crazy--and then intensely sober after he lost--and I think the highlight was seeing some of the foreign journalists play loud music and dance ontop of tables after it was announced that Obama won.

its a super weird issue. basically, i bought a new keyboard like 2 months ago, it worked fine, then randomly just started being super unreliable (not responding basically, felt like it's batteries were running out). I didn't like the feel of it anyways, so bought a new (and different) one. Was super good, until now, like a month or two later, I HAVE THE EXACT SAME ISSUE ON A DIFFERENT KEYBOARD. Yeah it's probably not the keyboard then but something else, I don't know.. Stealing batteries from tv's remote feels to help, but the thing is it has been random whether it works or not this entire time so cant really be sure. Due to our current home situation (just moved, 4 months old baby) my time is limited. Also I am on central European time so if there are a lot of Americans our schedules may not have much overlap.
The most time I have is after the baby is asleep which is around 8 PM CET until I go to bed which to be honest isn't that much later. Other than that I can sometimes take a look if the baby is napping during day time or when I'm at work and work is a bit slot.

I am Robz888's younger brother. I live in east Lansing Michigan and am turning 21 in 29 days. This is true despite my claim of being 19 in my first ever mafia game. I actually said it mistakenly while explaining that I was young and innocently nervous, hence my scummynes(i was scum) I have never been so scared that robz would realize I lied about my age and call me out on it, then I couldn't decide if me correcting myself would be scummy anyway and decided to leave it. But really I would request a rule be instated for all games going forward. The same way you cannot talk about ongoing games in other threads I request this thread be a neutral thread free from scum or town thoughts. So if you want to ingame lie about "being busy" that's fine but announcing a v/la should be true and have nothing to do with being scum or town in a game.
So I start my first full-time job on Tuesday meaning my schedule won't be as flexible and my f.ds time will decrease. I will be training for a few months from ~ 10-6 forum time.
But starting around June I will be switching to a 7on/7off schedule where I will be working 70 hour days for 7 days followed by 7 days of no work. This will make my availability a little bit unpredictable if you dont' know what week I am currently on, but I'll try to keep people posted of my schedule in the games I am in.

Oh man! You have to, have to, have to pick it up again. It will suck you in, I promise. I'm on book 5 (I think...) of the Dark Tower series. 'Salem's Lot is by far my favorite though and still scares the pants off me every time I read it. Cell is great, Desperation is great, Lisey's Story, Rose Madder, Four Past Midnight, Night Shift, Nightmares and Dreamscapes...really haven't found anything I don't like yet :)
Yeah, Eyes of the Dragon was weak. Insomnia is the worst though! That book is terrible.

I think some of you know this already, but I've moved into a new place. I didn't anticipate this to significantly impact my internet downtime for any length of time, but the downside to getting Google Fiber is that they take goddamn forever to call you to set up installation (I've been signed up for a week with no call so far, and it took a week before that for them to get the old account-holder for my apartment unsubbed). I'm hoping that I hear something this week, because I really don't want to sign up for Time Warner (but I really need Internet before December).

I'm flying to china for 9 days next monday.. and I just realized not being able to post enough from there is a very legitimate concern.
Luckily there aren't any games starting for me, and I'll for sure be able to match the commitment requirements of BM14, but if the only place with internet for me is going to be the hotel, I might need to work something out with the mods of GoT / Toy Story / Survivor (unless I die or get voted out before that). I guess I'll know more once I get there, I have no idea what my days are going to look like yet, but I expect getting to the internet or having time to post won't be very frequent. Unfortunateness.

Oh come on! I went to Six Flags for my 9th birthday and I regret being too scared to ride most of the rides. Since then I've gotten to ride on some fun coasters (I'm an adrenaline junkie now) but this'll be my first time on anything very major. I'm excited!

It's amazing because it feels like it will never end...right before the second lift hill, it feels like "oh thank god we're done...OHMYGODNOTANOTHER ONE."
I love rickety wooden rollercoasters. I went to Lagoon a couple of weeks ago and that really old wooden rollercoasters they had was my favorite. Hmmm...could be the loops. It's funny because wooden coasters feel both more dangerous and safer at the same time. As I've gotten older, my fear of heights and coasters has gotten worse, though. Ferris wheels and funiculars scare the crap out of me now -- worst of both worlds.

Wisdom teeth on the fourth. Yay.lol. It's really not that bad. Just make sure to take the painkillers asap instead of waiting 5 hours like I did. I'm still recovering, but after the bleeding stopped and I finally took the meds, it wasn't bad at all.

Training is going swimmingly (har). I've done my first 1/4 distance swim (6.2 miles / 10k) in lake water (warm compared to either channel - about 68 degrees) - and I made it through quite easily. I've done a 5k swim down in LA at Seal Beach - which is the same area that the Catalina Island Channel swim finishes. Again, the water felt warm, at a balmy 63 degrees. The water at that venue was really, really choppy (swells up to 5 feet), so even though it was short, it was a good experience.
For those of you familiar with the San Fransisco area, I'll be swimming my first 1/4 distance ocean water swim on August 9th, with the water closer to 58 degrees (similar to English Channel temperature) - when I jump off a boat at 7:30 AM under the south tower of the Golden Gate Bridge, and swim around San Fransisco to the Bay Bridge. Fun times!
After that, I am hoping to get down to San Diego in late September, to do the La Jolla 10-mile relay (as a solo swimmer), and by years end, I hope to do a width crossing of Lake Tahoe (12 miles), which is 1/2 distance, at altitude, in semi-chilly water (high 50's, low 60's).
Aaaand, that's pretty much it. I hope to do Catalina next summer, and the English Channel in 2016 - so things are looking good right now. I miss playing all my forum games with you guys though! I see the Forum Game community has passed the 2 year mark - so there's hope yet that in another 2, I'll be finished with all my adventures, and I'll find myself some time to relax once more!

This is going to cut my access this week at least until I get my car in a shop. Everything nearby the crash was closed yesterday and the weather today doesn't look awesome for getting it towed.

Well, the Pont d'Avignon is famous for having been destroyed in a Crusade, so clearly their Bridge strategy was destroyed by an opposing player focusing on Knights.
