If people are interested, I'd like to set up a new one day tournament with a different format, to see if it works better. It will be a swiss tournament for 6 rounds, with the top four finishers playing a single elimination knockout round to end the day. The swiss portion of the tournament will be MOST WINS through five games, while the knockout portion will be first to four wins.

Other things:
Point tracker: ON unless mutually agreed otherwise
Veto Mode: OFF unless mutually agreed otherwise
Same Starting Hands: OFF
Sign up closes at 9 AM Eastern US Time. The tournament starts at 10 AM Eastern US Time.
You must check in at least 10 minutes before it starts. I won't publish the brackets until then, but if you miss that deadline I'm sorry, but you cannot participate.
If you have any questions about format or would like to suggest a tweak in the format please let me know in the comments. Otherwise good luck and I'll see you in a week!

Sorry I can't return to defend my title. I will be Borneo. I doubt the internet access there will be reliable enough.

I'd still like to have a single elimination final four, but I'm thinking about cutting the number of rounds we play to (# of players/3) +1. So if all twelve people signed up right now show up on Saturday we'd play 5 rounds instead of 6. Anything less we could play 4, and if we get three more we'd play all six.
Also, since this is pretty unclear in the instructions, it will be one point per game won, .5 points per game tied in each match. Thus, it's about winning the most games against your opponent in five games, not best of five or first to three.

I am really really sorry.
I promise that I tried to be here "only" 30min late (i know it was already to much... :() but I just succeed to be there at 11.
I regret really this, I really want to participate, it was my first tournament and I dream about one since so long time...
I swear that that will not happen again!
I hope you will have fun in this tournament nevertheless my huge mistake...

I'm really sorry Marin. I know you were really excited for this. I waited until the second round started and would've inserted you, but after that I didn't know if you were coming back at all. Hopefully we can have you in the next tournament. :)
