Title: 1 Day Iso, Interest check
Post by: Rabid on April 25, 2012, 05:27:02 pm
Hi All

I'm thinking of trying to run a 1 day double elimination event.
Probably Saturday 5th May, 13.00 UK time. (GMT + 1 daylight saving time)
Or this that too early for those in the USA?
Please let me know if this would be of interest?
EDIT: not expecting anyone to commit, just trying to get an idea if this is viable.
Any feedback on the rules or other ideas for improvement would be great.

1) Final match to be first to 5 game wins, semifinal, 4 wins, other rounds 3 wins.
2) Match can be played in any mutually agreed format but defaulting to the following:
3) Identical starting hands OFF
4) Point counter ON
5) Veto Mode: OFF
6) Any time-out / disconnect is a game forfeit, can be replayed if opponent wants to

I strongly suggest using challonge.com if you weren't thinking it already to manage your brackets.  I would be interested if I've got the whole day free.  If not, I wouldn't want to waste people's time with an unsure schedule.

I think that's too early for me to get up for over in the Westcoast of North America  (6 am on a Saturday is sleepy time). Might not be too bad for Eastcoasters though.

I'm west coast US so 6am is not ideal, but I'll still do it if it doesn't change.

If I get eliminated early I could just go back to bed...

9 AM is early but doable for me

Put me down as a maybe. I'd love to do it but might have a prior commitment.

I can make it later if needed.
Its a balance between an early start in the USA vs a late finish in the EU.
That combined with not knowing how many players or how long a round will take makes it difficult.

I would love to.

I like the idea and would play if I had it free, even living in US Pacific timezone and having to wake up at some ungodly hour that should never been seen on Saturday morning (unless still awake from Friday night that is)

I am potentially in... When is a deadline? I may be camping that weekend. I am Mountain Daylight Time, and a 7 a.m. start time would be ok, but 8 a.m. would definitely be preferred.

I'd consider it if it were moved an hour forward. I'm not waking up @ 6AM PST for dominion, but 7 might be ok.

Another mountain time player here, I'd love to participate! I'm willing to get up for the current time, though later would be nice too. :)

Potentially interested, and timing isn't a problem.

Sounds really cool. I would totaly play if I'm free the day of the tournament.

I'll play (assuming nothing comes up, which it shouldn't), but please consider moving it a little later! :)

Def in, little later would be better for me too though.

Thanks for all the feedback.
Looks like a hour later will be best.
I'll start a sign up thread on Monday.
