Let's try another Anti-Necro Game thread.
tl;dr The aim is to have the second-shortest time interval in a sequence of decreasing time intervals, without double-posting.
Here's the formal rule set.
Terminology:
An "Anti-Necro Sequence" is a sequence of three or more consecutive posts in this thread in which:
- the time intervals between successive posts are strictly decreasing, and
- there isn't a pair of consecutive posts by the same player.
A "Game" is an Anti-Necro Sequence which is not a subsequence of a longer Anti-Necro Sequence.
A "Completed Game" is a Game which has a post after it.
Winning:
Each Completed Game is won by the player who made the penultimate post in it.
Clarifications:
- A player may post more than once in the same Game, so long as their posts are not consecutive.
- It is possible for the last post of a Completed Game to also be the first post of the next Game.
- Time intervals are calculated according to forum timestamps (in seconds).
- Games can be easily referred to using the reply# of the first post of the Game; Complete Games can also be referred to using the reply#s of the first and last posts of the Game.

You want someone to beat you, but no one to beat them. This prevents you from posting as instantly as possible, but still encourages you to post more quickly than the last person (if you weren't the second last) so you still have a chance.

It's not very complicated: the game ends when someone posts a longer necro than the previous one, at which point the second shortest necro wins.

The only tricky part is the the last post of a game is also the first post of the next one.

Turns out it is very complicated after all, because I think I got it wrong, it's still the shortest necro that wins.
However, I think I also found a loophole in the rules. Double-posting is not forbidden, it just completes the ongoing game.

Wait, I still got it wrong. The post that completes a game is not considered a part of the completed game, so I originally got it correct and it's the second-shortest necro that wins, and double-posting is indeed possible but it just wins the game for someone else.

This post, being an hour after #29, means that Game 29 (if it ever begins) will be over before Boxing Day.
