Todays title isn't quite what it seems, as it was a games night one week where everybody handpicked one set of kingdom cards and we played them.
This one was mine! I put in a few 'other' cards to try and disguise it a little bit, but its fairly obvious where I was going with this, I obviously won with it, having practised to death, which you now get to repeat.
Victory: Win the game in the fewest turns.
Conditions: You must have 6 provinces in your deck at the end and the Province pile must be empty (as this was how our game ended)
Kingdom Cards: Chapel, Scrying Poolm University, Conspirator, Festival, Market, Village, Transmute, Adventurer, Duke
Colony and Platinum: No
Bonus Point: If you finish the game in the same amount of turns I did in my final practice game (Hint: im not brilliant, but I did practice a lot at this)
Time Limit: You have ages! Till 11pm Friday
How to Enter: Send me a PM with the heading Solo Challenge 9 - XX Turns. And put your username, number of turns took, and link to the game log on the inside to make it easier for me to sort. You are only allowed ONE entry per Challenge, any further PMs will be ignored (This is to stop me getting spammed with better results)

For easy Copy / Paste
Chapel, Scrying Pool, University, Conspirator, Festival, Market, Village, Transmute, Adventurer, Duke, !Colony
-
Judging by the view numbers and the comments I get on first timers, I get the impression loads more people play these than officially submit results!
If that's you.......say hello!
-
Hello!
...I have really enjoyed following these, but haven't actually tried playing the challenges.
-
I haven't entered since the first few, but I'm always watching ;)
-
Few hours left to enter!
-
Ozle, what time zone are the deadlines in? I'm assuming US east since your profile says that's your local time, but just want to be sure.
-
Does it? It finishes in 25 minutes as im on GMT, usually I put that somewhere, but seem to have just assumed it by now. Another thing to add to the list!
(Didn't even know I could change it on profile must be on the default, had location as UK though)
-
And with that this round is now closed!
LOADS of points to give out this time round! And nice to see a lot of new people coming in and trying thier hand! Hopefully this was a fun set!
So, with 14 turns

Round 10 will hopefully be up before I leave tomorrow morning and will last till late Sunday and will be called : tellaB uadnapS

I wasn't planning on submitting a result, but three times I narrowly missed a 12 turn completion by exactly $2 =(
-
Couple notes reading through the logs
Rising Jaguar's log shows 13 turns, so not sure if he submitted the wrong one?
I thought the challenge was that we needed to have exactly 6 provinces in our deck at the end of the game. This was strategic in that you couldn't do everything in one big turn as you needed to be able to chapel some provinces the following turn. I noticed that Galzria had 8 provinces and jonts26 had 7 at the end of the game, though it looks like jonts26 had a chapel and province in hand on turn 12 so he could have easily trashed it. But maybe I just misunderstood the rules.
-
I was also not sure whether the goal was exactly 6 or at least 6. Also, no bonus points this time?
-
Logic dictates that if I have 8 Provinces, then I have 6 Provinces ;D Oh, the limitations of natural language.
I see that people bought Provinces on turns 10, 11, and 12, trashing 2 Provinces on turn 11 and using Scrying Pools to draw their whole deck. If 10 turns is indeed possible, the Province-buying has to start on turn 8 or earlier!
EDIT: confirmed for myself that 12 turns works. Using Universities to get a minimum of $18+P on turn 10 to start the Province-buying.

I understood it to be at least 6 provinces. But yeah, I could have trashed another one if I needed. In general though, I wouldn't expect it to be much of a strategic decision to have exactly 6, since it's going to be hard to buy 7 or 8 provinces int he last turn given the kingdom, you'll likely have the provinces lying around to trash.

I do believe that I've gotten down to 10 turns on paper, however I don't feel like retrying a million times to come up with the log, so, I'll post it here, and try to keep it as clear as I can. Please feel MORE than free to point out anything that I've missed:

Well, I think that does it. The odds of getting your Scrying Pool into every hand, along with the only non-actions in your deck for 5 turns in a row... whew. BUT, if anybody pulls it off, major props.
Cheers,
Galzria

Heh, that's what I thought, too. But, in retrospect, "at least" does make a bit more sense...

Looked good to me with quick glance. Given that the theoretical max appears to be 10, I'm glad I didn't spend more time than I did chasing 11... it just felt so close that I was sure somebody would get it.
-
If you have 8 provinces in your deck you also have 6 ( and 1,2,3,4 etc...)
Risingjag did say 13 on his mail, will update
Bonus point was for 15 turns, which was pretty much the only nUmber nobody submitted!
-
and then, to borrow a quote from an unamed source "I would be surprised if 12 is even possible."
That was me. It certainly felt like my draws were quite lucky to even hit 13, so I'm duly impressed.
