Title: Conspirator Bug?
Post by: Dingan on July 26, 2018, 04:50:55 pm
Is this a bug or am I just going crazy? Happened like 3 times this game, and certainly affected the outcome of the game as this lead to a Province, which lead to a Followers, which lead to me resigning.

It's correct. There's an official ruling somewhere.

Overlord---->Band of Misfits---->Conspirator is already activated, right?

Right.

To be more clear: Playing overlord and playing band of misfits, in terms of “total action cards played this turn”, counts as playing both the Overlord and the emulated card. It’s a neat trick.

Necromancer plays Necromancer plays Conspirator.

I haven’t ever done that, but it seems neat.

Note that this is a change from the original rules; originally the rule was that Band of Misfits was played "as" the other card. But then it got confusing about the proper way to handle + tokens on the Band of Misfits pile; so ultimately the rule was changed to follow the wording more literal. You play Band of Misfits (or Overlord). You follow the instructions on the card; the first of which is to "play this", so you play it (again), only this time it's being played as another card. Only 1 card in play, but times having played a card.
