Teasers are a little different this year. Instead of cryptic information about the content of the cards, you can guess their names. I've created a quiz here:
Guess the Dominion: Nocturne Cards (https://www.sporcle.com/games/LastFootnote2/ab66ab6d-50c3n4207ya504k6fbc02980b51)
It only includes the 33 Kingdom cards, so it doesn't include non-Supply cards, etc. Feel free to post the names you successfully guess! Hopefully somebody will compile them somewhere. I may update this post with successfully guessed names, time permitting.
EDIT: Here are the names guessed so far, courtesy of jsh357 on Discord.
Bard, Cemetery, Changeling, Cobbler, Conclave, Crypt, Cursed Village, Den of Sin, Druid, Exorcist, Faithful Hound, Fool, Ghost Town, Guardian, Idol, Leprechaun, Monastery, Necromancer, Night Watchman, Pixie, Pooka, Raider, Sacred Grove, Secret Cave, Shepherd, Tracker, Vampire, Werewolf
Probably the spoiler tag isn't necessary, but hey maybe somebody wants to try to guess blind.
-
So I got Werewolf and Vampire but those were gimmes. :-X
I ran out of ideas at that point.
-
Crypt!
Edit: And Cemetery. Other than that I got nothin'.
-
Necromancer.

This kind of teasers are not that fun for non native english speaking people :(
-
I'd say they pretty much are :)

Conclave!

Yes, I realized that right after posting it and am kicking myself. I sincerely apologize! I know it’s probably too little too late, but hopefully soon I can update it with at least the German names and possibly others. Sorry again!

Don't be too harsh on yourself. I am a non-native speaker too and it is still great fun. There are enough dictionaries out there. :D
-
I tried a whole bunch of standard Werewolf roles, and Fool hit.

Don't blame yourself! Everyone who reads and writes in an English-speaking Dominion forum can expect English card names to come up; anything else would be a bonus. I'm German and I had fun guessing names for Nocturne cards. When I didn't know a word in English, I looked it up!

I suspect a good number of the missing ones are 2-word names. Adjective+Noun is hard to guess.
-
I think I might make a teasers speculation thread so that new answers here don't get lost in the speculation/whatever semantic argument two people might be having. Do people like that idea?
-

I find it hard to imagine that there's not a Haunted Something-or-other
-
Cobbler!
-
Took a quick look through the Dominion Outakes. I found a hidden gem.
Den of Sin.
-

Den of Sin.
Resourceful.
Interestingly, Pixie Dust was an old outtake. Raider is also an outtake and a name of one of the new cards. I'm sad Berserker isn't a new card.

Russian names have been added to the quiz as alternate answers; guess the right Russian name and the English one will pop up.
German will be next.
-
There's a spoiler on Reddit with all the card names.

German names are live!
I don't think I have access to Japanese names right now. Many apologies!

Secret Cave

This is up on the blog now! Anyone want to post on BGG?

It's one of those spoiler tags that doesn't work on the mobile Reddit site. Spoiled myself on one additional card name before I turned away.

Idol!

I thought there would be a way to hack it. Somebody on reddit actually knew how apparently.
EDIT: LFN wants me to link to reddit instead of posting here in spoilers. https://www.reddit.com/r/dominion/comments/77ltch/a_teaser_for_nocturne_is_up_on_fds_do_post_if_you/

Aw man, you ain't gotta post it here! How about just a link to that reddit thread?
-
I got these five, but it looks like they're all known at this point, but anyway...
Cemetery, Crypt, Night Watchman, Vampire, Werewolf
-
Are the cards in this quiz sorted by cost, or are they just randomly thrown in?

The order is randomized every time you load the quiz.

How the hell did anybody manage to guess Secret Cave and Sacred Grove?
-
How the hell did anybody manage to guess Secret Cave and Sacred Grove?
I guess "Sacred Grove" is a common thing in Magic: The Gathering? That's what somebody said, anyway. No idea for Secret Cave, but it's cool that somebody got it.
-
How the hell did anybody manage to guess Secret Cave and Sacred Grove?
Sacred Groves are actual things: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sacred_grove A bit obscure perhaps, but a real term. And once we had Druid it's not much of a stretch.
I guessed cave, and I suppose with Secret Passage and Secret Chamber people just started throwing secret behind some words.
-
Some thoughts about the names...
Pooka? I feel like Goblin would be cooler. Den of Sin is very sexual and doesn't really fit with the theme. (Neither do several others of course, but I feel like Den of Sin is supposed to fit.) Also, Ghost Town "doesn't mean what you think it means".
Exorcist, Cemetery, Monastery, Changeling, Werewolf, Necromancer, Vampire, Crypt, Idol are cool.
But I would have liked more of them, like Mandrake, Nightshade, Crucifix, Wight, Spirit, Phantom, Specter, Bats, Spiders, Dragon, Demon, Gargoyle, Leviathan, Owl, Skeleton, Skull...
EDIT: and Grimoire! And a Develop variant called Decompose!
-
I think of Den of Sin as, like, a gambling hall as well.
-
How the hell did anybody manage to guess Secret Cave and Sacred Grove?
I thought of secret hideaway and from there tried secret cave.
-
Den of Sin is very sexual and doesn't really fit with the theme.
I don't know, sex is often coupled (hehe) with the occult and ritual magic. I think it works pretty well, given the context.

It works just as well as "brothel" would in that sense.

Brothel card, because we all know how much Harem was a hit with the kids.
-
Too bad we don't have a card called Necronomicon. Cthulu would be cool too....
-
Too bad we don't have a card called Necronomicon.
You know, we could. Necromancer could gain Necronomicons from the Necronomicon pile.
-
So, I guess Necromancer Necro's old Dominion games.
Also, no Gremlins, but we have Pooka which is kind of the same, I think.
-

I think Den of Sin fits rather well with the theme. Besides images of the "Icon of Sin" from Doom 2, it reminded me of the "Louviers Possessions":
https://www.mtholyoke.edu/courses/rschwart/hist257/stephwhit/final/3possessions.html (https://www.mtholyoke.edu/courses/rschwart/hist257/stephwhit/final/3possessions.html)
Also, I can understand Den of Sin referring to gambling. Gambling dens are thing I think.
I feel dumb for trying "cursed idol" but not "idol" by itself.

With no context, I would say those two are fairly synonymous, but within context I think the word "sin" makes "Den of Sin" more thematically appropriate than "brothel".

Agree. I also agree that "Den of Sin" in more puritanical contexts could mean merely a gambling hall (as previously noted) or a tavern.
-
To protect the innocent I propose we put these suggestive card names like Secret Cave in spoiler tags from now on.

Yeah, I mean, that one and Cobbler are pretty racy.

I found Idol because I typed in the German word "Götze".

You said that sex is often coupled with magic. In that sense, (i.e. judging how well the name works given its sexual connotations) brothel would work equally well.
Anyway, even if it also has gambling connotations (which in any case are less obvious than the sexual ones), it still doesn't fit with the theme. Except of course if we're thinking that gambling generally happens at night... but so does sex, so hey.

Guys, take it to RSP :P

You said that sex is often coupled with magic. In that sense, (i.e. judging how well the name works given its sexual connotations) brothel would work equally well.
But not just any word is right for every context. There are subtle shades to language. When sex is coupled with the occult and ritual magic (which is subtly different from just saying "magic"), the words chosen to refer to sex usually reflect a darker side. Den of Sin sounds better than, say, Love Nest in this context. For that matter, so does brothel. So lets put them on a spectrum: Den of Sin > Brothel > Love Nest. Then you can add any number of other terms in there that have a similar meaning. At some point on this (admittedly subjective) spectrum, the terms are going to cease being appropriate for a given context.

Genuine question, here. Why would this need to be taken to RSP? We're discussing whether the terminology on a card works within the theme of the expansion. Or does any mention of sex have to go to that sub-forum?

It was tongue-in-cheek. The RSP header says "Discuss these topics here, and in here only" (emphasis added), so technically you should but I don't particularly care.

I would be down with never seeing another Cthulu or Cthulu-themed thing in any board or video game for the rest of my life. Same with Zombies.

I've been a long-time fan of Cthulu-based stuff by way of being a long-time fan of Metallica, and I'll be damned if I'm going to let boardgaming's overuse of the theme ruin it for me.

Argh, I really hoped Werewolf would be the only one I lose :'(
Still looks exciting. I like the theme a lot.

My goal is to get at least 1 of these. Obviously they won't all follow the horror theme.

"Faithful" hound? I was trying like "Hellhound".
-
I tried hound without an adjective... My bet is that at night the hound changes into a werewolve (or has a chance to do so) and in order to mark the difference it needs to be a really nice and faithful dog before.

Crypt will combo with Storyteller. The online version will play the "Tales from the crypt" theme everytime that combo is exploited.

Florbian Catacombs would make a good promo card.

I thought the actual term of art when it came to dens where naughty people did naughty things was "den of iniquity (https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/den_of_iniquity)"?

It seems there will be some Cthulhu in there. Just look for the artwork of idol on Joshua Stewart's page (http://www.stewartillustration.com/illustration-.html). :D

got the last ones :)
Faithful Hound - Getreuer Hund (old-fashioned, but that's fine) and
Devil's Workshop - Giftküche (I like this one more and more as I think about it)

The idol on that page is for some Fantasy Flight Game, not Dominion.
-
Stewart's page has Conclave and Exorcist for "Reogrande Games" though.
The lady on Conclave looks a lot like Warcrafts's Jaina and Dota's Crystal maiden.
-

Yeah, but Expedition and Lost Arts also say Reogrande Games.
-
Cthulu would be cool too....
I would dig a Great Old Ones pile with each card being a different (à la Knights) Lovecraftian ancient.
Oh god, please no. There's plenty of other Lovecraft stuff in other boardgames - it can stay out of Dominion, thank you very much.

Yeah, I get it. It's overdone in boardgaming and if Dominion added something like that now, it would just seem like Donald was jumping on the Cthulhu bandwagon. So let me qualify my statement with, "if the theme weren't already played out..."
-
I never got the Chtullu hype. Must be an American thing.
-
Devil's Workshop - Giftküche (I like this one more and more as I think about it)
This is already my new favorite card.
-
As cool as the quiz was, it's a little sad that teasers this year means "you get to know the names of most of the cards". Previously it was always interesting information dealing with various quantities of different things and slight information actually related to mechanics.

Yeah, I understand. Although as I posted on reddit, Donald's original plan was to post the list of 33 names as the teaser. I proposed the quiz. So uh think of it as a slightly more fun, interactive version of what you could have had, rather than it being slightly less fun than a thing which wasn't going to happen this time.
-

Perhaps Donald thought that he couldn't do that kind of teaser for Nocturne without either giving too much away or not really saying anything at all. Or maybe he didn't have the energy to do that kind of teaser. I trust his motives.
-
This kind of teasers are not that fun for non native english speaking people :(
Yes, I realized that right after posting it and am kicking myself. I sincerely apologize! I know it’s probably too little too late, but hopefully soon I can update it with at least the German names and possibly others. Sorry again!
I hope everyone got a version of the quiz in the language they preferred, or will get it while it's still interesting to them.
However, please don't think of "non native english speaking people" as a homogeneous group with respect to this quiz (or language issues related to board games in general). I have a strong preference for having things in the original language, when it's one I'm comfortable with, and this includes English. (This preference of mine applies to board games, movies, books, all sorts of stuff.)
If I were to guess Danish names, I think my strategy would be to first guess the English original names, then guess at how they might have been translated, which is more difficult than just guessing the English names directly. (As I understand it, both English and Danish names would be correct answers in the hypothetical Danish version you would've set up, so my point is doubly hypothetical.)
The fact that I prefer this in English rather than my native language of course doesn't erase the existence of those with the opposite preference. Just, please be aware that people whose native languages doesn't include English don't all have the same preferences. There's probably almost never any risk that efforts to accommodate people with RTT's preferences come at the expense of accommodating people with my preferences, so it's mainly an issue of not conflating distinct sets of people in how you speak (and maybe think), not how you act, just... please be aware of this distinction :)
(Edge case: you make a piece of software. The installer peeks at my system config and sees a Danish keyboard layout, timezone Europe/Copenhagen, and Danish date format—don't assume that I want the Danish names for the menu items, error messages etc.; sure, default the <select> box to "Danish", but let me pick English. It might not occur to you that some people want this if you make the wrong assumption that everyone prefers their native language.)
-
German and Russian (and maybe Japanese?) answers were added because those languages are supported on Dominion Online. Danish is not yet supported, unfortunately. :(

From a global utilitarian do-the-most-good-for-the-greatest-number-of-people perspective*, I think it's good that German and especially Russian and Japanese has been prioritized over Danish. (* I probably only take this perspective because the status quo already serves me just fine.)
There are few Danes and we're good at English (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EF_English_Proficiency_Index (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EF_English_Proficiency_Index))—or maybe it's more accurate to say that a large fraction of us are mediocre-to-sufficiently-decent (or better) at English. There are many Germans, and fewer of them are good at English. There are even more Russians and Japanese, and much fewer of them are good at English. Also, since no Dominion products have been translated to Danish, being both Danish and interested in Dominion predicts being sufficiently good at English, more so than for native speakers of any of the languages on http://wiki.dominionstrategy.com/index.php/List_of_cards_in_other_languages (http://wiki.dominionstrategy.com/index.php/List_of_cards_in_other_languages).
Likewise, translating to Hungarian does the world a greater favor than translating to Danish (there's more of them, and fewer are good at English). Sure, do both, but if you have to prioritize which one you do first...
Maybe being young correlates with both English proficiency and interest in board games, in which case the English Proficiency Index is probably a sub-perfect guide. Maybe being young correlates with English proficiency more in the eastern-block countries than in the west. But apart from that, what I said is an exact science ;)

Some would say that's a Really Bad Card Idea:
