Title: Bully award
Post by: GendoIkari on February 15, 2012, 09:24:24 am
So on Isotropic, you get the "Bully" award if you play an attack every single turn after turn 4. I noticed I had 3 of these; and figured they would likely be all Minions. Two fo them were, but I also managed to do it with Rabble!

So I'm curious, what other attacks have people managed to play every single turn after turn 4?

I did it with familiar and pirate ship in a golem game apparently.

That is an example of ridiculous shuffle luck if there ever was one.

I also missed it by 1 turn (turn 6) by Governor / Hunting Party / Milita in this game with WanderingWinder:

I hope that WW doesn't post that game online, because if it was me, I think it would consist of nothing but swearing.

The frustrating thing in that game was that you kept drawing badly or something, because I kept staying within striking distance if ever you got a really bad draw. Which meant I felt I had a really small chance to win. So I didn't want to resign. Yeah, I'm getting attacked every turn, but it's not as annoying as a masq pin, and I've been under a few of those. You just accept that it's gonna happen and sorta ignore it.

I got the award three times and only one was a Minion game. The two others were games with a lot of Spies/Ambassadors.

I, too, have only got it once for setting up a torturer chain that fired early with the help of Inn's.

I don't have that one yet. Which is weird because I definitely remember a scheme-sab game that should have qualified.  But anyway, I just wanted to say that I dig all the new awards that have been added lately.

Most definitely. I hadn't looked at my vanity accomplishments recently, and then I saw this thread and wondered what the Bully achievement was and why I had never seen it before. I was impressed at all the work that has been going on in CouncilRoom.

Anyone else has the bully award with Pirate Ship (http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20120123-165621-9b9663c7.html)?  ;D

I have it four times. Twice I opened Minion/Chapel; once I did it with Minion/Swindler, and once with Pirate Ship/Scheme.

So not only have I done it with Pirate Ship, I've also gotten the Bully award in a game I *lost*. :)

I did it 3 times. Once with Minions, and 2 other times with Minion/Ambassador. Interestingly enough, I lost the latter two games.

I guess I'm meaner than most; I'm an 8 time Bully, winning 6 of those.

Loss 1 (http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20110103-210720-d38f3fe7.html)
Ambassador/Cutpurse/Rabbles with Worker's Villages, Lighthouses and Dukes also important in the kingdom. My opponent had 7-3 Lighthouse split and junked up my deck much more effectively than I hurt his.
That game was in January of 2011; I didn't get Bully again until last June.

Loss 2 (http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20120121-200444-07f8b489.html)
My second loss, from less than a month ago, involved the thought process "Pirate Ship is bad because it's slow; but if I'm Scheming, I can play Pirate Ship much more frequently, getting its value higher, so it should work much better!" Nope.

Win 1 (http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20110708-141812-bdfa26cd.html)
I opened Swindler/Potion, got some Familiars and Scrying Pools, and some Hunting Parties to keep playing attacks.

The rest of my 5 wins were all Ambassador games  ;D

Ambassador/Quarry (http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20110623-212935-18892c01.html) into Bazaar/Wharf plus a couple Rabbles (and one more Ambassador and one more Quarry); 18 to 4 final after 15 turns

Ambassador/Caravan (http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20110627-195008-89caf462.html)/Ambassador plus a Market, some Caravans and a pile of Throne Rooms; my final deck size was 27 cards, opponent ended with 29 Coppers, 8 Estates and 9 Curses, 69 total cards; 25 to 11 final after 22/21 turns (I was first player and had last turn).

Ambassador/Ambassador (http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20110712-002306-e68e8540.html) into Cities, Grand Markets, a Pirate Ship, and apparently Great Halls when I didn't have big coin hands. Managed to get Pirate Ship to +$6. Final deck size 31 against 23 Coppers/5 Estates/10 Curses/65 total cards; 47 to 27 after 24 turns.

Ambassador/Ambassador (http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20111019-222801-1c83cb44.html) into Alchemists, Bishops and Border Villages. Also an Island, a couple Markets, and a bit of IGG action. Opponent was pretty heavily Bishoping, this game was a bit closer and I didn't get my milestone of fewer total cards than opponent's junk cards. 28 to 23 after 22 turns.

Ambassador/Hamlet (http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20120212-123828-743d1605.html) on 5/2, but the presence of Peddlers made that awesome, as I bought no Silver, eventually picking up all 10 Peddlers (I had also grabbed my second Ambassador on turn 4). I also got some Margraves for draw (plus additional attack). 31 total cards against 16 Coppers/5 Estates/9 Curses, so 31 vs 30 there, just missing my milestone. 19 to -4 after 17 turns.

Ambassador is probably my favorite card  8)

*note: FWIW I don't know the levels of my opponents when I actually played them, but the current levels of my opponents in those Ambassador games are 26, 2, 0, 14, and 32 respectively. I'm currently level 35, my max was 39, but I've spent most of my time sitting in 33-35.

Yep, this was my thought process too. Plus Walled Village on the board, so multiple Pirate Ship plays! What could go wrong?

Um, yeah...not the best plan against Treasure Map: http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20111021-084821-91d672b8.html *facepalm*

Hm.. not convinced of this. If you have decent enough PS density you're going grab up the golds relatively quickly..

I have two Bully awards. One is a boring Minion game. The other is Ambassador, Cutpurse, Pirate Ship and Rabble. And yes I use all of them to pretty much lock down my poor opponent turn after turn. Only twice before turn 23 does he even get to $5 (turn 4 Library that was the card that got him to $5 on turn 14.
