now i know what you're thinking. that's because most people evaluate boards in the same way, so i can assume that you're thinking something along the lines of "okay, so, there is actions in crossroads and prince, except, ooh, the only thing other than crossroads that you can prince is forager and that simply won't do."
well, i did prince crossroads. and also i princed smugglers.

i had 6 fairgrounds, opp had one, which is the reason that i had 6 instead of 5. these fairgrounds were worth—you guessed it—a tastefully sub-herculean 6 points each. that ends up being a lot of points, as the ledger will note.
  10/10, would shop again.

I thought this has forager this cant be a too long game. I just love  this trasher.

I would open hermit/foarger then depending on my draws go for a smuggler but most likely not. use the events when it calls for it. Shrink my deck really small really fast then go for crossrads +2 rabble big money. Depending what the opponent does fairgrounds or provinces. would skip prince.

How about a golden deck here? There's forager, hermit, and bishop to trash plus mission turns. It largely cuts out rabble and smuggler. You can work the bishop on the prince pile before the province pile just to extend the game.

I like a golden deck here

Rabble makes green cards a liability (unless you prince crossroads)

I like the Golden Deck. Maybe the Fairgrounds thing beats it, but I honestly doubt it.

A golden deck here can get set up pretty fast. Bishop / Forager, get a second Forager at some point, a few Silvers, buy Mission every turn after you hit Gold until you're trashed down. Shouldn't be much longer than the Province game, and it shuts Smugglers down.
