Title: Hermit & Market Square trashing
Post by: polot38 on February 01, 2016, 04:30:16 pm
If, at the end of your turn, you trash a hermit into a madman while you have a market square in your hand, can you reveal and discard that market square for a gold? Thanks.

Yes you can.

Hello  :)
could you please explain how exactly this works? Assuming that "at the end of your turn" means the clean-up phase, I always thought cards are discarded all at the same time (all at once). So either the cards are in your hand or in the discard pile already. Hermit triggers when it's in the discard pile, but market square needs to be in your hand.

(I think this thread might be somehow related: http://forum.dominionstrategy.com/index.php?topic=14205.0 )

The linked thread should answer your question. In the cleanup phase, you choose the order to discard things in. Your hand must all be discarded at once, but that can be before or after each card from in play. So just be sure to discard Hermit before your hand.
