Post by: Mavy2k on January 11, 2016, 07:54:06 pm
I am someone, who likes to think a lot.
I have adapted to online gaming to thing less

It bosthers me, because Dominion is a game that requires you to think

What, do people tell you to hurry up or do they ask you what you're doing? That has happened to me. One time my opponent said, "go," I replied "One moment, I'm thinking," then he resigned. It happens, but just take the free win and move on!

If you want to play with someone who has manners, just challenge someone on the forum. We're all pretty cool.

Yeah, just take your time (as long as you're actually using that time for thinking and not just to annoy your opponent). If your opponent has a problem with it, it's his problem.

I also take my time (and occasionally get some flak for it).  Especially on complicated engine boards, sometimes you really need that time.

On a similar note, I find myself getting intimidated when people play super-fast and that sometimes makes me play worse! I don't know if that's the intention, but I know for certain when I used to play in IRL cribbage tournaments that that it surely was intended. So just play the best you can at your pace and they'll deal.

I'd find it very difficult to even realise that I'd annoyed someone.  Does the chat pop up automatically in the current version?  I know I've been accidentally ignoring everybody for months.

Just look at the yellow animation thing. I don't understand why everyone has the problem of ignoring chat. Or you can keep it open, it doesn't really get in the way.

Or you use MMF where the chat is below the log.

Sorry, I meant "accidentally" ignoring people for months.

Last time I looked at MMF it wasn't clear where I should start reading to find out to actually install it.  Pointers?

I still can't believe that after the success of Isotropic Dominion that no "official" version has had the log and chat always visible. I can't remember if the client for PKCards had the chat always available, but I think it was. The log was not, however. (That game was much easier to track, though.)

If I am playing while at work, it's not uncommon for me to be called away for 5+ minutes randomly in the middle of a session. Usually I will mention this in the chat window. Unfortunately, I was often not able to wait for a reply.
