Not a secret or anything, but I open Watchtower/tunnel, you open militia/silver and go first.
turn 3 i draw copper/copper/estate/watchtower/tunnel, eww gross.
You play militia, i discard tunnel/estate, reveal tunnel gain gold, reveal watchtower, put it on top of my deck.
my turn three i have watchtower/copper/copper, play watchtower, draw gold/copper/copper/copper
i buy province

If you're smart, you buy gold...
But also, there are many known turn 3 province things. There's a whole thread...

I do feel that the thread is a bit out dated now, since it's possible to get a Province turn 2.
-
Is this somewhere in the puzzle thread? I can figure out how to do it in a 4p game without much difficulty, but not in a 2p game.

I'm sure there's other solutions, but:
Player 1 draws 4 Copper, 1 Estate.
Player 2 draws 4 Copper, 1 Estate.
- Turn 1 -
Player 1 plays 4 Copper and buys a Noble Brigand.
Player 2 reveals 2 Estate, discarding both and gaining a Copper.
Player 1 draws 3 Copper, 2 Estate.
Player 2 plays 4 Copper and buys an Envoy.
Player 2 draws 3 Copper, reshuffles, draws Envoy and 1 Copper.
- Turn 2 -
Player 1 does something; doesn't matter.
Player 2 plays Envoy, revealing 4 Copper and 1 Estate.
Player 1 discards 1 Estate from the revealed cards.
Player 2 puts 4 Copper into his hand.
Player 2 plays 8 Copper and buys a Province.
-
The exact same sequence replacing Envoy with Coppersmith would also work.

And wouldn't rely so much on collaborative play from one's opponent. (While buying a Noble Brigand turn 1 is arguably dumb, it's not as clearly playing-to-lose as is making your opponent discard an Estate from 4x Copper, 1x Estate off an Envoy draw).
-
Open Fool's Gold/Fool's Gold, draw them with 3 Coppers.

I had an opponent recently make me discard a Tunnel from Envoy. :D
-
Turn 2 requires some opponent help.
There are probably a handful of ways to get one with good shuffle luck on turn 3 and no opponent interaction.
Baron/Silver, draw Baron, Silver, Copper, Copper, Estate is what I came up with quickly to add to the double fool's gold.

That is true, if you consider your opponent opening NB as help you. Otherwise we all know you can nevery buy something worth more than 5 with your first two hands.

Kind of revolutionizes the Big Money strategy, doesn't it?

We start talking about it most of the way down the first page; basically he was cheating.
