I was thinking and there are some cards that I read differently. I don't mean it as I read Chapel like "supertrasher", I mean it as there are cards that have some optional or special case abilities that I almost don't use and take the card as if it didn't have the ability at all. Here is what I mean:
Name - "What I read"
Pearl Diver - "+1 Card, +1 Action"
Explorer - "Gain a Silver card, putting it into your hand"
Fool's Gold - "If this is the first time you play Fool's Gold this turn this is worth $1, otherwise it's worth $4" (so without the reaction)
Does anyone else do something like this? ;D

I feel like it's easy to forget that Apothecary can pull Potions as well as Coppers, but I use it often enough that I don't neglect that part. Otherwise, no. If you want to be good at Dominion you have to find a way to take advantage of every effect of every card. If you don't and the other guy does, well, you've only got yourself to blame when you lose.
-
Yeah I do this. I think it stems from the fact that I am new to the game and when a game starts on isotropic I tend to try and read the kingdom cards really quickly so I don't hold up the game to much. Skimming over them I often miss clauses and auxilery options on cards.

I often forget :
- The attack of bureaucrat
- "each other player may trash a card", for bishop
- "each other player may discard 2 cards, of he does, he draw a card" for vault
- The +1 buy of contraband
-
- The +1 buy of contraband
Funny, that is the ONLY reason why I sometimes buy Contraband :)

I only read the reaction of Fool's Gold when other players spam it before I can. I hate it on iso when the other player buys a Province, I have four Fool's Golds in hand, and it wants me to do the reaction. No! Go away, reaction! I've got multiple buys!

When I first started playing with Trader I ignored the top and only bought it in games with Cursers. But the ability to turn each Estate into two silvers and trash Coppers and Curses is actually pretty huge. What other card is a double hit against Cursers, stopping them on the way in AND taking them out of your deck?
-
I can't think of a single effect I ignore. Even on Duchess.
-
The potential Gold gain of Explorer is the only effect I regularly forget about.

Probably just as well. Making it hit with your Province basically makes you go through the same things you go through to get the Tournament Prizes, only instead of an awesome unique card you get... a Gold. Which, while great, can be obtained in a number of easier ways.

I forget about Baron's "gain an Estate" pretty often.

Funny, that is the only reason I trash Baron every game I can when I don't have actions to spare.
-
Silk Road decks love Baron - you'll either give me enough money for a Silk Road or a free Estate? Ok.

The Gold gaining ability is a key factor in its usage as a Possession counter though. Possession already makes you want to green early, so getting Province reveals makes Explorer an even stronger answer to Possession.

I tend to forget that Chapel limits you to trashing four cards. Of course, it doesn't often matter.

This kinda belongs in this thread(it is about 2 different cards effects :P). When I see an embargoed Ill-Gotten-Gains and 1 curse left in 2p or 2 in 3p or 3 in 4p I always think "K I buy it and they all get curses, embargo happens after I gain the IGG which happens when I gain it so assuming IGG is first they get curses I don't." Wrong. I get 1 curse and anythat are left are given to my opponents. >.>
-
I often don't read Trader's reaction. I don't think I've ever had it come up as the best counter to an attack, so I've only seen it bought for the trashing.
