We both open hag/silver. We both get upgrades. He hags off my upgrade, gets a second upgrade. I struggle 4 turns to hit another upgrade, and he buys a third and starts cruising.

Secret Chamber is a bad card usually, but it has at least some use against Sea Hag. As turns where you play Sea Hag are pretty useless to your own economy anyhow, and there were enough cards that were nonterminal, i suppose the risk of terminal collision was also not that terrible. Better players than me would have to tell you whether you should have bought it here instead of your second Hamlet.

You get bad draws on turns 3 and 5 and buy hamlets. What good are those hamlets doing for your deck? Look through the game log for 'play hamlet draws curse'.

Good point. Those hamlets were defenitely wasted buys.

Here again you got bad draws. However why did you buy these remodels? Silver is better. Also with upgrade around you should buy second hag, you could turn it into duchy later.
I would not worry about hamlets much as they are equivalent of doing nothing and only alternative at 2 was try secret chamber+silver=duchy formula.
