So the reason the prize cards are not kingdom cards is that they aren't really balanced. Fair enough. But I tend to play casual RL games, and furthermore my wife (and primary playing partner) has been perpetually stymied in her efforts to actually play one of the prize cards by never being able to line up provinces and tournaments.
So given all that, if any of the prize cards WERE used as kingdom cards, how much would each one cost? And would it be necessary to tinker with what any card does to make it more viable?

Do you want the prizes to be in the kingdom as a stack of 10 each? Or just have them off to the side and you can buy the one copy there is (and they still dont count as in the supply)? I can see there being a big difference between getting one copy and being able to buy multiples.

DStu did some simulations on this (http://forum.dominionstrategy.com/index.php?topic=6623.msg182634#msg182634) and it looks like buying Followers is good for BM even if Followers costs $9. Of course that's just BM and doesn't necessarily tell you what it would need to cost to be "balanced". (I'm not sure if the other prizes have been simulated.)
The prizes are prizes because they didn't work as kingdom cards. If you're just playing casual games then I can't tell you what you think is fun, but I would expect that if the prizes were just available for $x, it actually doesn't solve the problem much, because I expect reaching $x to be difficult as well (if $x is a "balanced" cost), and the more skilled player will still have the advantage in getting there first. But if you do want to try it out you can read some of the discussion in the thread I linked for suggested prices.

I would just leave out Followers.

Yeah, I would be looking to have a whole stack of 10 cards. I can use the blank cards to fill in.
ETA: So I would have 1 prize card in one game, like a stack of 10 Bags of Gold or whatever, with no other prizes available.
And I do realize that it will be unbalanced no matter what price they are, but I would like to reduce the amount of unbalanced that they are. And I would probably go with Princess or Diadem in an actual game, since they never end up getting picked up when we use Tournament (I get Trusty Steed and Followers, and then never worry about getting any more prizes.)

Princess is probably the most important Prize, though.

I think Diadem is fine at $6?
Bank is $7, but it's quite easy to make Bank worth more than Gold.
With Diadem, it's a bit harder, and if it's $6, well, it's just the same as Gold in BM.
Bag of Gold I would price at $8. Non-terminal Gold topdecking is pretty sweet. $7 seems just a tad too close to regular Gold.
Trusty Steed is like a powered up City with a lot of versatility, so I'm thinking $7.
Princess' only drawback is that it can't be throne roomed, but it's still pretty powerful. Bridge is $4, so this big brother I might price at $7 or $8.
I would suggest you just playtest and see for yourself.

At first I thought this thread said, "Princing the Prizes".

I think no one would ever buy a Bag of Gold if it cost more than $7. Is it better than Hoard? I think the answer is absolutely no. This is of course a good illustration of why the Prizes aren't in the supply. There really isn't a price at which BoG works.

Every time I read it too.
