Title: Tens10n, Game 3 (a Single Submission Game - Results!)
Post by: mith on December 06, 2012, 04:56:11 pm
There are 10 boxes. Box 1 is worth 1 point, Box 2 is worth 2 points, and so on up to Box 10, worth 10 points.

There are 10 players. Each player has 10 chits.

To join the game, post here and then send me a PM assigning your 10 chits to the 10 boxes. If you put the most chits in a box, you win that box and its points! If there is a tie for the highest number of chits, no one gets the box. (Note: If you don't post here and send a PM, you will not be signed up - I will take the first 10 who do both and submit a valid assignment.)

Whoever gets the most total points wins. Tiebreaker rule: whoever wins the most boxes wins ties between players finishing with the same number of points. If players are still tied, they rejoice in their shared victory!

Only if it's to tell us you're going all in on 2s.

i still really like my tiebreaker suggestion

if two players have the same # of points, whichever one owns the lowest-numbered box wins

I like it a lot too.

There's a similar 2 player game I play with IRL with playing cards.

Each player picks a suit and puts all of those card into their hand. Another suit is the 'points'. Each round, a card is flipped over from that deck. You see it's value (Ace = 1 point, 2= 2 points...., King = 13 points). Each player then puts a card from their hand face down. Once both players have, they flip, and whoever has the highest card wins the points. If they tie, no one gets the point.

You do this until all the cards are exhausted, then each player counts up their points. Most points wins.

You can play with 3 players too, using the rule that cayvie suggestion.

I'm sure Cordelia was inspired by that when she came up with Tension.

Tiebreaks should be determined by one game of dominion.

We've also improved the total score every game - from 28, to 36, to an impressive 50 this game with only the 2 and 3 unclaimed. I doubt this trend will continue next game, but who knows?

Interesting. I'm surprised my 'strategy' (I guess you could call it that) worked

Winning that 9 with only 1 chit? That's just robbery!

I hereby humbly withdraw the l-o-s-e-r comment and salute the victor, the wise and obviously-talented Insomniac.

I thought about doing exactly what Insom did, actually. Which of course would have made us both score zero.

First place - he would have taken the 9 from Insomniac.

hmm, i don't think there's any assignment of chits that would win all three boards at this point.

And 9+4 =13, correct? Did I miss something?
(I was being arch about the shared second place, as 'shared victory' doesn't mean much to me in non-coop games - it's a tie, a non-decision)

He means that we would have been tied for first, not second.

Alas, I am at the bottom of the barrel.
