I went to see Rigoletto, the opera, yesterday. Well, it is the story of a jester, in a duke's court full of conspirators, who is cursed by a nobleman.
That's it.

Did you immediately come home and play a Riggoletto-themed Dominion game?
-
Jester
Duke
King's Court
Conspirator
Nobles
What else?
Pawn? - Every opera has a bunch of people in the chorus who just hang around and do stuff.
Minion? - I'm sure there was at least one Minion-type individual.
Anyone else have Rigoletto-themed additions to the set?
-
Wikipedia says there is at the very least a Count.
-
And a Page, which is close to a Squire or a Steward. There are Assassins, which is not yet a card.
And portions of the action occur in a church (Chapel) and a Courtyard.
-
Chapel, Courtyard, Pawn, Squire, Steward, Conspirator, Jester, Duke, Nobles, King's Court?
Rigoletto sounds like a short but fun opera.
-
The irony, of course, being that the only card on the table that can give out curses - the Jester - is, in the opera, the character who gets cursed.
-
Who curses Rigoletto? No, he has bad luck, but the whole cursing and swearing revenge stuff is his domain. Very thematic.
The Duke isn't a king (at least not in the opera, I think he is in the play it's based on), so no king's court. I can't think of any card to represent Gilda or the assassin. Maybe a saboteur for the latter, then some card costing more than 3 for the former.
