Where do we find release dates for dominion empires in different languages ? I am interested in dutch
-
I think the answer is we don't know yet. That's probably why no one has answered in this thread yet.
-
The German version will apparently be available in Essen, which is in Mid-October

A pity they didn't translate Annex as "Anschluss". ;)
-
They transtlated landmarks as "Landmarken" though.

Sounds terrible, though I'm not sure how to translate it better. The best translation would be probably "Sehenswürdigkeit", but that is too long to fit.

Not too long as Geschichtenerzähler for sure.
-
Yeah, but a card title has a lot more room, the translation for landmark has to fit in the top right corner which is really small.
-
Really? As a tourist, you'd say, "Let's see the Eiffel Tower, it's an important Sehenswürdigkeit"? Even if you're against the English-y "Landmarke", both Google Translate and Wikipedia would suggest "Wahrzeichen" as the best word to use.
-
Oh right, I haven't thought of "Wahrzeichen", that's probably the best translation for sure.
-
To be fair, I don't actually knwo a better word. You wouldn't call a Wolf Den or a Bandit Fort a "Wahrzeichen", but "Landmarke" is a word I've never heard before.

"And over here on your left you can see the local Wolf Den! Please stay in the vehicle for this part of the tour."

You wouldn't really refer to a wolf den or a bandit fort as a "landmark" in English either, so no worries.

Maybe not where you live . . . :P

Does anyone have the German version yet? Or is there a PDF of the German rulebook available somewhere? I would love to know translations of the card names so I have the dividers ready when my copy finally arrives.
-
I do think the translations are taking an awkward amount of time. Every week it gets more tempting to just buy the English version, but then again every week we're supposedly getting closer to the release date... if only we knew an actual date...
(Or if only I had the other sets in English to begin with)

From a comment on their facebook page:
Nicht nur die deutsche Version lässt sich noch ein wenig Zeit, das sind einfach Verlagsentscheidungen die bei Rio Grande Games liegen. ASS Altenburger selbst ist lediglich für den Vertrieb auf dem deutschen Markt zuständig.
So it's not that it takes so long to translate, but that they aren't allowed to release it earlier.
German version was supposed to be released on 1st of September. (This info is also taken from their facebook page, the website does not have any info about Empires).

I suppose something similar is going on with the Dutch version...

I'm not sure I believe ASS about RGG forbidding them to release earlier. DXV claims to have no knowledge of that, and the only reason to frobid it would be a shortage of metal tokens.

It's possible there's a miscommunication. Maybe they are just not struggling to be clear, and in their minds "RGG won't let us do it earlier" is their way of saying "RGG didn't give us the files until this date."
RGG may totally have effectively limited how soon other versions can come out, by when they get the files. RGG used to send out the files earlier, and there were leaks, and so the files don't go out as early. And then they need translating and maybe you reasonably don't feel like scheduling the printer when you don't have the files yet. So that would delay other versions relative to English. It wouldn't mean some other imposed release date delay though.
RGG may have put some other imposed release date delay on other publishers; you could ask RGG yourself. I have never heard of such a thing myself, but I'm not actively trying to find out everything there is to know about these interactions. The only times I've known of RGG limiting the release date (beyond the files thing which for sure delays people), it's been to not be *ahead* of the English version.
Man I hate talking about this stuff now.
RGG is doing whatever, ask them if you want to know, don't bring me into it.

Well, nobody asked you. We know it's not your fault, don't worry.
-
They relaunched yesterday their website and there's now info about Empires (http://www.dominion-welt.de/erweiterungen/empires/) and it's in their shop, but no release date, it is stating only "not available"
-

I was responding to "DXV claims to have no knowledge of that." DXV regrets anything that might sound like a claim to have knowledge of anything ever. I have asked neither RGG not Altenburger about this, and neither entity has an obligation to discuss their interactions with me. If there's something going on there, I am just another guy who does not know.
-
I'm sorry about involving you in this, Donald. I have now contacted RGG directly about this as I should have done in the first place.

I also saw a physical copy of German Empires on Wednesday

And translations are up on the wiki.

Does anyone know whether the German version will contain metal tokens or cardboard ones?
The German rules PDF says "56 Siegpunktmarker aus Metall in 3 Wertigkeiten sowie 40 Schuldenmarker." Does that mean that VP tokens will be metal, and Debt tokens - cardboard? Or is it a misprint and all tokens will be made of the same material?
-
All the tokens are metal as far as I saw
-
Sadly the 5VP tokens aren't the same size as the ones from Prosperity

I think that's on purpose, and the same for all the languages that have metal tokens.

It will in fact be the same for all languages with metal. I assume Prosperity will change to having the new ones too. I don't know the story behind them changing.
-
Polish version of Empires will have cardboard tokens.

"Sadly"? I decided to stop using the Prosperity tokens because the 1's and the 5's weren't different enough in size. I think the Empires ones are a huge improvement. It would have been better still if each denomination were a different color.

This is a feature, not a bug. It's way easier to tell them apart now.
-
I liked the prosperity tokens, and I'm kinda bummed that they were different in empires too.
-
When is Dominion coming out in Klingon?

That means Swedish, Finnish, and Norwegian?
