Hmm, I think the VP algorithm is interesting. I'm not super-stoked about the Bishop part, since we already have Bishop for that.

I like it. It seems somewhat like a much more balanced version of the card Palace I proposed in this thread http://forum.dominionstrategy.com/index.php?topic=10524.msg350669#msg350669. I do agree however that it might be more interesting to see a different on play effect, as right now it's quite similar to Bishop. It probably needs to be able to trash to ensure a way of getting rid of your starting estates, but I'm not exactly sure what benefit it should provide. I'm assuming that this card would be primarily used in a three pile rush strategy. Maybe such a strategy doesn't need any help, but you could consider the following:

+1 Action. You may trash a card from your hand. If you do, you may trash up to two copies of the same card from the supply.

I don't like that it reduces its own VP value, just because then the "10VP" that it says doesn't really ever mean 10VP. I'd rather it be worth 9VP, and -1VP for each other victory card in the deck.

I'm not sure what the intention of this card is.  A kingdom victory card usually either has a couple VP as a bonus on an otherwise compelling dual type card, or it encourages decks which stray from the standard Province approach in novel and enjoyable ways.  This card handicaps itself in such a way that one can never obtain more than 25 VP worth of Pyramid -- so Provinces cannot be flatly ignored -- and its action feels awfully close to Bishop, only substantially weaker regarding VP.  The best combo appears to be with Rats, but even five Pyramids and twenty Rats only gives 45 points.  This is not enough to beat uncontested Provinces, especially since you cannot make use of Duchies.

I wanted it to be weak but it is a bit too weak.  I also think I steered away from what I was really going for.

Trash a card from your hand.  If it's a victory card, gain a nonkingdom treasure costing less and +VP equal to that treasure's coin worth.

So buy expensive victory cards, then exchange them for treasures and vp tokens?  That doesn't strike me as terribly different from just buying the expensive victory cards for keepsies.  I guess you'd choke less, although the treasures still usually clog engines.  It isn't really striking me as a fun alternative to the default goal "reliably hit $8".  Am I missing something?  What is the core concept that you would boil this down to, before balancing?

Mh, the thing is that "store victory cards so they don't clog your deck" has already been done on another card. That card is island. And there is bishop, which can almost do it with provinces.

You'd need something else to get me excited about the concept.

The idea is that it would be a card that can punish fragile decks that choke on just three or four Provinces.  You refuse to buy Provinces and set up a Duchy trashing engine. 

It shouldn't be good against engines that can easily buy eight Provinces.
