Even if they're the correct play!
I just had Mercenary with $7 and two Provinces, so I trashed those Provinces to afford the last and get the win.
-
I once trashed a Fool's Gold to Spice Merchant so that I would have +buy to use on my 5 other Fool's Golds.
-
I once bought a second Silver.
-

I'm disappointed that you bought a first Silver. :'(
-
Really, any time you spend $8 or more on a +Buy card because there was never a good hand to pick one up earlier and now you have too much money.
-
I'm waiting for AdamH to reply, because you know what he always says.
-
I remember one of AdamH's games where he trashed a platinum with spice merchant for plus cards and it won him the game.
Sadly I only do things in dominion that feel good so I don't have an example of my own. Maybe that's why I'm mediocre....

I can never bring myself to buy a Duchy over a Province in a Duke game...

I do it a lot in regular Province games. Especially if Rebuild is involved.

It is true that "If it feels good, do it;" but the inverse ("If it doesn't feel good, don't do it") is NOT true. Sometimes you have to do painful things, like buy a Duchy (It's one of those painful dukeys).
I remember a BM-ish game where I bought a Duchy at the top of my shuffle with 8 Provinces still left in the supply because I was certain the rest of my draws that shuffle would give me Province that shuffle and I'd wish I had the Duchy. Turns out that play won me the game.
-
I think I gave my opponent a free Province with Ambassador on more than one occasion.

Is that actually the right move? The goal is to get Duchies and Rebuild them into Provinces. If you can afford a Province outright, it should be better to just get that instead of a Duchy. Skip a step, be one Province closer to ending the game, and your Rebuild play can hit one of your other Duchies instead.
For regular Province games, I suppose you are talking about PPR.

No.

Is that actually the right move?
If you win the Duchy split because of it, sometimes (for example, if your opponent still has Estates, Feasts or other stuff that is almost useless with the Duchies gone).

The first time I Remodeled a Province into a Province felt weird.

I'm such a fan boy ::)

It felt weird when I had $23 and two buys on a colony board, and bought a throne room and a curse for the 3-pile win.

I feels even more weird when I buy 10 curses to win a game.

Are you playing on Goko? Because it took you a while before you could trash it after gaining it...

It should be forbidden to change your picture after you used one for a while. I totally associate cards with people on f.ds.

Then you should change your picture back to Chapel. You're destroying my world! You're Chapel, SCSN is Mystic, I'm Marauder, LastFootNote is IGG etc...

(For posterity: At the time of posting this, I had Mystic as my avatar.)

I am not joking, I saw this post and was thinking, "Why did SCSN say that? Nothing changed..."

That was crazy for me. I looked and saw SCSN posted, then saw sudgy's post saying nothing changed and thought that nothing actually changed and then looked back and the name changed! It was LastFootNote!!

Why is everyone changing their picture as they agree with me? It's very annoying.

Ambassadoring 2 coppers and buying nothing when you have an estate in your hand.
Chapelling all of your cards, in the same situation.

That only feels wrong for a bit. I quickly started feeling good just getting my Ambassador on turn 3 or 4 and not turn 5.

Ambassadoring 2 copies of a card that I want to have myself, just to get the piles back up & delay a 3-pile.

that log... so cool. 41 turns... ambassador war lasts 26 turns, then stef buys a curse to continue it... (and because he needs to stop rabid from continuing to green as well as give him negative points)... but when Rabid moves for the three -pile, and stef is 30 points behind and is a little bit away from getting a colony a turn, he ambassadors all his FG back to the supply... and then later some mining villages.
I've had the buying a curse and ambassadoring them all to my opponent thing win the game for me multiple times, but this is just a whole lot cooler.
-
I finally for the first time did the whole "Give opponent a province with ambassador to end the game". I was going to win anyway though, it just sped it up a bit.

In a four player game it speeds things up a lot.

A lot of plays that feel wrong, are wrong, and vice versa.

I always picture it like the old joke where the model is standing next to the car. "Do you come with the Duchy?" Yes, yes she does.

I had a Taxman in hand and a spare action....but I had $8 and we were on the last province.
-
I played a game with Mint, Fool's Gold, and Thief. My opponent goes first, lays down $5, and buys Mint. I looked at the $4 in my hand, sighed, and bought Thief.
I ended up winning that game, and I think that Thief was part of it. But man, opening Thief felt so wrong.

I did that with colonies in a three-player... A slight miscounting; there were three colonies left, not two, but I still won. And it confused my opponents no end. ;D
