Title: Worst game ever
Post by: AdamH on April 22, 2014, 12:12:19 am
In this game (http://www.gokosalvager.com/static/logprettifier.html?/20140421/log.5085f5130cf270038ff92212.1398139790492.txt) there was KC+Possession flying around. Swingy as always, and no resignation was appropriate after any of the KC+Possessions. This was terrible.

Off-topic, but I just noticed how awful Possession + Mandarin would be if Mandarin was on-buy instead of on-gain. On-buy effects trigger for the possessed player, so you could force a topdeck of all treasures every turn.

I guess, good thing that couldn't happen here?

If the deck you're possessing is suitable (say, a strong draw engine with Vault), you can trigger a shuffle and leave exactly five dead cards on top of the deck (http://forum.dominionstrategy.com/index.php?topic=10318.msg344616#msg344616). This is much better than topping whatever treasures you played during the possessed turn, since you don't even have to put back the good treasures, and you don't have handicap your next possession turn by putting back more than five.

In my second turn possessing Nick on T13 this is exactly what happened, I was an idiot and triggered an unwanted reshuffle with his deck and had to just throw away one of my turns possessing him. Luckily I had plenty of turns and could end the game comfortably but I thought of exactly that game when I did that to myself. Next time I'll try to remember to do it to him instead :P
