There are a few reasons why this is not a great idea, but that isn't one of them

Italy, FIFA World Cup Winners in 1934, 1938, 1982, 2006
Italy, UEFA European Cup Winners in 1968

In contrast to the Dominion finals, where in addition to the one victory there were also 3 ties...
