I think the parallel is that Coliseum Manager in the worst case will prevent you from using your Hero Power once, which is like taking two damage.

Anyway, new card:

Flame Juggler
2 mana 2/3
Battlecry: Deal 1 damage to a random enemy.

Not the most exciting card; it's comparable to Knife Juggler, probably better turns 1-3 but worse afterwards. Really great against 1-drops like Leper Gnome, and solid in Arena. Also, via Reddit:

I hadn't thought about that. Isn't this the first two drop in the game that has a chance to trade with shielded minibot and survive?

I just opened Blingtron 5000. The amount of funky combos I'll have access to as time goes on has shot up dramatically. Sweet!
Oh man, I've been using Blingtron in my Savagery Ramp Druid deck and it's hilarious. Doing stuff like Blingtron > Claw > Savagery > Acidic Swamp Ooze is sooo satisfying. Just crafted Harrison Jones a couple days ago too.

We'll need to wait to see how valuable the Inspire keyword is before we can assess this one fully.
Ah, you mean in case we have any Undertaker-like cards which specifically call out the Inspire keyword? I'm kinda skeptical that there'll be enough of that to make a big difference... the Inspires we've seen so far have already had a pretty large variety of effects, and it'd be kinda weird to call that word out specifically when the cards which have it don't necessarily have much else in common. It's the same reason we don't have any cards specifically about Battlecries, except for Nerub'ar Weblord, which is generally considered a pretty weird and dumb card.

As for Coliseum Manager (the new 2/5) specifically... I doubt it'll ever be used in Constructed, except in some sort of Warsong Commander + new Inspire shenanigan combo deck, but I think it'll be better in Arena than people are giving it credit for. 2/5 is a solid body on turn 3, and the ability to heal it up and along with a free hero power for 5 mana and 0 net cards is kinda comparable to Azure Drake or a super-Gnomish Inventor, if you squint at it. I don't think it'll be a good card, though, because being unable to use your hero power without a big tempo loss is a problem.

New cards:

First thoughts...

North Sea Kraken: The first common above 7 mana! Definitely interesting in the draft phase, and should be solid as a lategame drop; seems like it would often outright win the game in topdeck situations.

Sacred Warrior: Yet another really good Priest common. It's kinda like Frothing Berserker, but easier to keep alive. Maybe Circle of Healing will actually become a good pick if you have a couple of these.

King's Defender: Would probably be amazing in any other class; Eaglehorn Bow as a rare 3 mana Fiery War Axe is already decent for Hunter. Having a lot of durability is actually kind of awkward in Warrior though, as generally you want to pick as many weapons as possible, and playing this on turn 3 with an Annoy-o-tron or whatever means your Death's Bites and Arcanite Reapers will be hard to play for a few turns.

Wildfred Fizzlebang: Uh... probably not very good, right? Usually if you're Life Tapping on turn 8+ in Arena, mana isn't much of a concern.

Wow! A 9 mana common? Definitely an interesting option in Arena drafts. Also seems like they might be trying to make the game friendlier for F2P and new players.

Basically, you can only use cards from the previous two-ish blocks, where each block consists of some number of expansions. See: http://magic.wizards.com/en/content/standard-formats-magic-gathering

Thoughts on the new cards in Arena? Here's a list for reference: http://www.hearthpwn.com/cards?filter-unreleased=1&filter-set=103&filter-premium=1&display=3

Obviously insane: Totem Golem

Probably insane, just compare it to Razorfen Hunter: Tuskarr Totemic

Obviously bad, but maybe not as bad as it looks: Skycap'n Kragg, Lock and Load

Okay-to-decent stats and potentially great effects, so should be a solid pick: Garrison Commander, Coldarra Drake, Maiden of the Lake, Fallen Hero, Silver Hand Regent, Lowly Squire

Hard to tell because I dunno how often you can really use your hero power, but not terrible even with just one trigger: All the big Inspires, Draenei Totemcarver, Frost Giant

???: Ball of Spiders, Effigy, Poisoned Blade

Justicar Trueheart: Justicar Trueheart

Why those stats? It seems best in face hunter because of the high attack, and the crazy hero power. The others don't really do enough for the crap stats and the hero power becomes only slightly better.
Huh? Face Hunter is pretty much the worst possible meta deck you could put this card in. It's a 6 mana card which doesn't do any damage when you play it. Most Face Hunter decks don't run anything above 4 mana besides maybe Leeroy.

Not to mention the upgraded Hunter hero power is way weaker than any of the other ones, not stronger. Look at it this way: if play Justicar Trueheart instead of hero powering on a turn, then it'll take a full three turns until you catch up in face damage, assuming you hero power every turn.

Edit: Also note this is a Battlecry, so it transforms your hero power for the rest of the game. The body is sort of secondary to the effect.

How bad would a 2/4 have to be to cost 1 mana?
I believe the last time we had a trailer like this, only the card images were accurate, not their classes, rarities, or stats. Don't quote me on that though.

The drawback wouldn't have to be that bad, we already have Zombie Chow after all.

Drafted this Arena Warrior:

Execute x2
Shield Slam
Whirlwind
Clockwork Gnome
Southsea Deckhand
Battle Rage x2
Heroic Strike
Slam
Cruel Taskmaster
Mechwarper
Shieldblock x2
Shattered Sun Cleric
Warsong Commander x3
Death's Bite
Chillwind Yeti
Cult Master
Kezan Mystic
Grim Patron
Spectral Knight
Boulderfist Ogre
Drakonid Crusher

Any thoughts?  This almost feels like a Constructed Deck...just a few things to swap out and it could work in ranked play.

I think the total lack of early game presence is a big issue. Constructed Control/Patron Warrior has Fiery War Axe and Armorsmith to survive the early game, yours seems like it'd just get run over against the average Arena tempo deck. You also don't have the burst of Frothing Berserker or Grommash. I would guess maybe 3 wins.

Just a reminder to pay attention! My opponent played a Voodoo Doctor as his 4th minion despite seeing me Duplicate a Mind Control Tech earlier in the game, so I stole his 10/10 Lightspawn and came back from being down 4 health to 30. There was no reason for him to lose that game.

I had a Sneed's Old Shredder in play, and Blessing of Kings + Blessed Champion in hand for lethal. I played the BoK, and it summoned Baron Rivendare. Which left me with the choice of

1) Continue with lethal, or
2) Play Equality and suicide my Sneed's into my opponent's board for two legendaries.

Before I could decide, though, my opponent conceded. Despite me not having lethal on board at the time.

Don't people know how to have fun??

Re: Whether Shaman is playable:

I don't think a typical midrange/control Shaman has much of a chance in this format. The only way you can really win is with a lucky Bloodlust; Shaman only has two spells which cost 4 or more, and a lot of their other spells are really situational.

However! Yesterday I lost to a Shaman with a really cool 2x Ancestor's Call deck. The first one brought out Chromaggus and gave me nothing, since I was running a spell-only Druid deck, and I couldn't deal with it for several turns. His second one summoned Enhance-o Mechano, which seems like a questionable but interesting inclusion, but by that point he was so far ahead that it didn't matter, and he just ran me over.

Ancestor's Call seems super potent in this format, what with all the spell-only decks running around. Malygos and Troggzor are probably the best target, but Ysera, Chromaggus, Sneed's, Al'akir, and Deathwing also seem pretty crazy.

Best coincidence so far: Playing Force of Nature with 6 minions on the field, summoning an Argent Commander.

Hm, good call. It looks like the 8 mana minions are actually better on average, since none of them have Battlecries, they all have decent stats, and a solid 5/11 of them have either Charge or Taunt or are Ragnaros.

My very first Brawl, my opponent summoned Baron Rivendare, Leper Gnome, Undertaker, and Leper Gnome in consecutive pulls. I then got a Deathlord, which he killed to summon his own Deathlord. I only had one minion left in my deck though :(

This list may prove useful: http://www.hearthhead.com/cards=5?filter=stat-cost-min=5;stat-cost-max=10#gallery:0+4+5+3+1 I'm considering crafting a Tree of Life just for this Brawl :P

Holy shit, what just happened to me? On consecutive turns:

Nefarian
Trade Shredder > Thalnos, Consecration, Dark Wispers for 13/13 Nefarian with Taunt
Muster for Battle, Hero Power, Soul of the Forest
Tirion Fordring
Booty Bay Bodyguard, Illuminator, Secret, Stealth spare part on Illuminator

I was 2-2!
