I thought it was fun, though I'm not sure about the scoring / competitive aspect of it. Though not sure what I would suggest tweaking either.

One thought on the mechanic -

The pile is face down, but when you play fish, you can (and will) return them to the bottom pile. While I don't know if it would actually matter in practice, this gives an advantage to people with good memory at some point to know what fish is next, and that doesn't sit quite right for me.

Maybe when returned they are face up (and can be looked at?) There still is a some advantage to experienced players who could know which fish had not yet been seen, but that aspect also does exist in the official cards with Boons and Hexes.

Events: Summon, Capitalism

All the cards that care about an Action card costing up to $4 or $5, and no actions that fit the bill except Band of Misfits, which of course needs an Action card costing $4 or less to do anything. Vineyard and University are there to tempt you into getting Band of Misfits when you really shouldn't. Scepter can replay one of your useless Actions. Guardian has no attacks to block, and Night Watchman is just a Night card I generally find disappointing.

Night Watchman is good for guaranteeing you hit $5, which in this kingdom is utterly meaningless. So the optimal strategy really is big money (which beats my kingdom where the optimal strategy is Big Money + Courtyard).

I like how you can susbtitute a lot of the landscapes and the kingdom would be just as awful (e.g. Sewers, Tomb, Academy, Barracks, any of the Adventures Token events, Inheritance). You could also replace Night Watchman with King's Court.

I can imagine each card being dealt out thinking that it was going to be a great kingdom, only to realise once everything's out that there's nothing to do.

My Kingdom is somewhat similar to the above, but all the Kingdom cards are Actions:

4: Throne Room, Procession, Band of Misfits
4P: Golem
5: Mastermind, Royal Carriage
6: Captain
7: King's Court
8: Prince
8D: Overlord

Landscapes: Citadel; Populate


So many options for Landscapes, but I liked these best: Citadel because it is TR variant like many of these; and Populate, because, I mean, c'mon!

I also considered Lurker instead of Golem, in order to not have any Potion cards, but wondered if there may be some attempt to use that and some of the above to 3 pile. I imagine that would be oh so slow, but went Golem instead.

Question about the rules: can you clarify this one:

You must not Guess a word that was previously Guessed. You should not Select, Reject or Propose words which were previously Guessed.

I guess mostly the "should not" part. i.e. is it allowed? if so, how does that work for Select especially, given that you cannot Guess.

or just whether they match or not.

To resolve the challenge, Galzria and silverspawn need to PM scolapasta with the words which silverspawn selected and rejected on turn 4. (They must not include either Eagle or Revolution.) Then scolapasta needs to report results here.

Turn 5 can be taken by anyone other than silverspawn, Galzria or scolapasta (i.e. EFHW or someone new).
If someone takes turn 5 before scolapasta reports the challenge results, then that player could gain or lose a point for their guess.

Do I specify which I think were selected and which were rejected, or do I just list two words? Do I confirm/deny the choice of Silver with ‘Revolution’, or ignore the guess entirely?

I could say:

I intended {X, Y, Z},
or
Rejected/Selected {A, B},
or
Word Rejected {Q}, Word Selected {R}

The bolded one.

And they don't necessarily have to be the two words you were thinking of when you gave your clue; you are allowed to update your thoughts in the light of silverspawn's guess and clue. Your aim should be to match silverspawn.

Also, don't say whether or not silverspawn's guess ("Revolution") is what you were expecting. That only comes to light if someone challenges your clue from turn 3.

Interesting, I did not realize that they could change what they were thinking (in fact I was going to post asking about this and if glaz should've had to send me his before the next turn happened, but with this, then obviously not)... makes the idea of pre challenging more risky now...

We need 4, they need 5, but they'll have 2 turns to our 1 (after this last guess or pass). So I feel we should try to guess.

So far we've mentioned:

CODE, DRESS, PARACHUTE, FINGER, TRIP as possible.

I think we should guess. Dress not great, it's more straps. I guess same with Parachute, though I could see it.

Not convinced on Trip.

I'm warming up to Code. Still like Finger for some reason.
