I didn't think that far, but that's actually an excellent point. If the VP gain is 1 or more, gaining curses with this is absolutely legit in the right deck. Especially if the board is weak and you're playing engine vs. a money-based strategy.

Quote
If you get a copper, you gain 1 VP as of the round up.

This doesn't make sense though. 0 / 2 = 0, which, rounded up, is still 0. If you gain a Poor House, then rounding would make sense.

I think you would do it if you want to hit a 5$. Opening HT/silver gives you 9$ over 10 cards, which means a 100% chance of hitting 5$ on Turn 2/3. Pretty good most of the time, and some added flexibility of actually playing HT when it's worth it.

5
The problem w this is that you will just buy it on turn 1/2 most of the time, even if you don't plan on playing it

That feeling when you realize Amon Göth is Voldemort

by which I mean played by the same actor, but actually their personalities aren't too dissimilar, either. Ofc Schindler's List is an infinitely better movie

Thanks! :)

Imposter was my favorite entry as well; happy to see that it got the win. It's just a really unique effect on a pretty simple card.

Hot Take: The Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy kinda sucks. It's considered a really high quality and scholarly source; even though it's a wiki, it's considered a valid citation in formal contexts. But it's just not very well written. I'd take Wikipedia above it in most cases if it had the same status.

It's not the worst thing ever, but I'm not impressed.

Point fully granted, but I don't think that justifies the very not great user experience

So yeah Netflix is also just being stupid for not hosting more movies from creators who'd be fine having them there for free. Very freeing to just say that!

This doesn't sound like it but I'm actually serious; I'm officially done finding clever reasons for why stupid sounding things are reasonable

I'm reminded of the critiques of methods of rationality. In the story, harry goes to Magical Britain, finds out that magical currency is literal gold, and concludes that since the price of gold varies but the muggle money / wizard money exchange rate does not, you can exploit the system to make money (details left as an exercise).

Then reviewers were like this is super arrogant, the more mature thing to do would be to assume that there is a hidden complexity that makes it all makes sense.  Congratulations reviewers, you officially care more about sounding smart than succeeding in life

I mean it's possible that there would be a hidden flaw, but it's probably unlikely rather than certain, and assuming that there is not and then falling on your face if in fact it exists is a way better strategy for navigating the world. Even if you try 10 such things and succeed once it would be vastly better. Arguably even if you never succeed it'd be better since you'd learn more

I'm hereby declaring the EMH officially dead. Companies routinely leave large chunks of money on the table by making obviously stupid decisions. Crypto goes through predictable up- and downcycles. Prediction market suck. All explanations are just rationalizations; no one is actually efficient at anything. RIP

So many services feel like the front end just has dramatic deficits that are trivial to fix but there is no functioning feedback channel whatsoever. I've felt this ever since ICQ suddenly had this hideously ugly smiley set that for me made the product significantly worse

Isn't vimeo supposed to be a youtube competitor? It honestly feels like it's not even trying.

Also vimeo always has these weird very short breaks in playback that drive me crazy. I don't know why services stopped just buffering the entire video. Actually it's probably because so many people don't watch entire videos, thanks fragmented attention culture

When you have a significantly bad user experience with something where the cost of providing a fix is so ridiculously small,I always feel this intense frustration

But I already installed an add-on to overwrite speed for this reason so screw you vimeo

I've randomly encountered this former pastor on youtube at some point, but ended up watching a surprising amount of his videos. He's actually a very interesting guy; he retired from being a pastor because (according to him) it was emotionally draining as an introvert, got a job in software engineering instead, and then most recently got a job driving around a truck (delivering food to schools iirc).

Will definitely use this next time I debate a conservative about Trump, though that doesn't tend to happen a lot since I don't seek out political debates

Yeah card advantage on a 3$ is not
