I was hoping we could've had some more talk about whether or not we're looking for another scum team or if we think there's only one scum team. But I think that'll have to wait. And in the meantime I'll stick to my theory about there only being one mafia faction. So no werewolves. Which leads me to believe we have to look closer at those who were not voting for Raptor (and to a certain extent mail-mi).

vote: ashersky.

This is the second day in a row he has cluttered the thread with endless arguments after having already made his point the first time.
And this makes him scum why?
Tried and true scum method to impede scum hunting.

Here's what I would like to know: Glooble, why did you bring this up if you weren't going to vote for faust or major a case on him?

Because it seems like information town should have.

Also, maybe when I made the post I was thinking I was going to vote for faust, but I haven’t been able to.

The district QTs engender a kind of manufactured solidarity and trust that makes voting for your neighbor feel like a betrayal. It’s something a scum player could manipulate easily and I think that has me on my guard. Basically I keep second guessing myself on whether faust feels townie to me because he is and my gut reads are good or whether faust feels townie because he’s manipulating me.

i really like this post. i definitely find myself having similar thoughts about my district buddy; i get the gut feeling that she's town, and then i second guess whether that's genuine intuition or whether i just really want to have a neighbor i can trust.

It gets challenging when your neighbor claims your scum early day 1. Though, as I've started to say, my new theory is that maybe that actually points to them being town (and just wrong).

So I'm going to go ahead and throw it out there, which you all can tell me why it's very wrong:
Since I'm new, scum!Shraeye wouldn't accuse me of being scum. (I think the theory has diminishing returns for scum!faust and scum!LaLight, but does help me lean partially that way)

And yes, this is different from initial OMGUS that they were scum, and I'm still ambivalent towards shraeye and faust for other reasons, but that's where I'm at.

Sorry, disappeared there for a while.

I need to reread, not sure where my vote is going to end up, but probably somewhere based on D1 wagons.

As much as I completely agree town should never lie (I didn't catch what it was- again, need to read), faust's voting record makes him at least not mafia (even if he is scum) and I think we should look for mafia not a different scum faction.

Vote Count 2.5:

scolapasta (3): faust, ADK, WCD
Ashersky (3): Cayvie, EFHW, scolapasta
faust (2): MiX, LaLight

Not Voting (6): Glooble, E!, Jimmm, Ashersky, Lekkit, Shraeye

With 14 alive, takes 8 players to lynch.
Deadline for Day 2 is April 2nd at 9:12pm Forum Time. That is a little bit longer than 1 day from now!

what's the thinking behind your theory? why wouldn't scum!shraeye do that?

As town, you're trying to find scum, so if you have a hunch (in this particular case, a misguided one) there's little reason not to go with it. As scum, not so much, any non your team is a good kill. So why not target someone more experienced? i.e. I'd want to keep the inexperienced person around longer, especially if they're in my neighborhood and maybe I can take advantage of that inexperience*.

* Especially since by targeting your neighbor, you create distrust and lose this potential opportunity

Of course with two factions, there's a chance you're both scum against each other, but even then, there's an argument to be made that keeping the inexperienced person alive is preferred.

I would love to think that we can limit the lynchpool to three people. But I don't think that's reality. Scum died at night. No one has claimed the kill. Occams razor says we have a second scum team or a serial killer. And those people could be anywhere on or off the wagons.

I think town!Glooble pointing to something as a scum tell and then shortly thereafter doing that thing is a lot more likely than scum!Glooble doing that.

It's still best to lynch someone who could be either mafia or third party.

In Jimmmmm's world, scummy actions are not anti-town.  I don't recall players calling others out in this fashion:  "hey, that's a scummy thing to do, but definitely pro-town, so keep it up!"  Like, what's the use?
Well, claiming scum is a scummy thing to do, but usually pro-town.
Thanks for the spit-take faust.

Somehow people think this is a very scummy thing to talk about.  So that probably stops scum from engaging in this talk; and town who are worried about their optics.

I alternate between being very sure there is more than one team, and very sure there is only one team.  So I'd say 50/50, but I think a lot depends on (redacted), which I aim to know by tomorrow.

With ash I try to err on the side of not thinking he's scum for this sort of thing because I tend to disagree with so much that he says and get sucked into this kind of argument with him; I think that's likely to bias me against him. Is there more to this argument that you can make against him?

25 hours or so until deadline.

We have three viable wagons currently (remember, always add 1 to any wagon when I'm not voting).  I assume no one is bringing up a new name at this time?

I think scola has been reasonable recently, enough to wait him out.

I believe the lynch should be faust or ashersky, given the options with votes.

Ugh...I’m not sure I’m feeling any of those three.

E, shraeye, Glooble, Jimmm? Any new takes on things?

I agree the schola is seeming towny, but the Ashersky v faust dispute(s) don’t seem necessarily  scummy. Whose flying below the radar letting them duke it out?

6 people not voting makes it hard to see which wagons are viable. Hopefully that will be remedied soon!

scolapasta (3): faust, ADK, WCD
faust (2): MiX, LaLight
Ashersky (3): Cayvie, EFHW, shraeye

Not Voting (6): Glooble, E!, Jimmm, Ashersky, scolapasta, Lekkit

Well, we are at 4/3/4 with 5 to vote.  So we need opinions from

Glooble
2.7
Jimmmmm
scolapasta
Lekkit

I'm fairly certain scola scumreads ash and town reads faust (and themselves)
I'd guess 2.7 would favor faust over ash
Jimmmm will go ash over faust, but don't know where he sits on scola
Glooble and Lekkit...no idea

So my best guess is we are at something like this with two unknowns at this point:

Scola 4
faust 4
ash 6

I'm going to go ahead and vote: ashersky

I'm willing to admit I'm not so sure, i.e. the impeding seems a little excessive and *too* obvious.

But I'll also admit, part of my reasoning is self-preservation.

I had voted already ^^^^

Did I do it wrong?
