Those were the things I thought about for fatty too, so fatty: 4 might have worked.

I imagine it would have been rather difficult if palm and thumb didn't have the same color.

I would have guessed Thumb for herniated next, apparently the bulging disc can make your thumbs numb.. So we were really lost on this.

What were the words for robin hood and herniated?

I considered fat: 3 because "fat thumbs" is something that people sometimes talk about in reference to small touch screens, and I think small board game components too?  But I thought it was too big a stretch for Palm and it was fine to play it safe.  If they weren't the same colour, there were other options.  My first inclination upon seeing the grid was actually to pair Palm and Oil because they are right next to each other and palm oil is a thing.  So Palm could be something to do with palm trees.  Even if I wanted to stick with the body part, there are ways to get palm without thumb -- sweaty palms, slapping... As for thumb, there are thumb drives (USB could make a good clue for Mount and Thumb, though it might not count as one word), likes (Facebook thumbs up), thumbing through books... I think there would have been possibilities.  Having Palm and Thumb together did make it easier though, absolutely.

gkrieg said he was going for COMIC and HAWK.  I thought that Link might be one of them, since depictions of Robin Hood and Link from LoZ are kind of similar to me (heroic figure clad in green in forested area).

I'm not sure, but I think ZELDA may have been intended to hit Mount (Epona).

Herniated: 4 would have finished it, right?  The missing words were Pin and Mount.
