Skip,

Given you were planning on claiming *something* at the end of D1, and now you've claimed to have sent a message to Cayvie N1 (which was redirected to Mail-Mi - Actually, hasn't been confirmed yet - can you confirm your initial target was Cayvie?), care to expand on what it is you were thinking as D1 came to a close?

I can confirm my initial target was cayvie but i still don't want to elaborate on my almost-claim yesterday. It doesn't really have bearing on anything happening today. It's just some technical detail having to do with my role that might have come into play yesterday but didn't. You can safely ignore it.

After an extensive re-read, I would be a lot of straw-pennies on this reads list:

WCD - Scum
Cayvie - Scummy
Faust - Middle close to Scummy

EFHW - Middle
Skip - Middle
e! - Middle

UncleE - Town
Shraeye - Town
DatSwan - Townie af
Mail-Mi - Town af

The middle three have been cycled through my order a multitude of times as to who amongst them is most likely scum... ultimately, hell if I know. That's the closest I could place them but... /shrug

-----

Vote: WCD - She's Scum McScumerston. There's a tick I only just noticed on re-read that I'll happily divulge at game's end. But I'm very confident in this read.

Didds - I think this is the first time I've ever thought you were scum. Well, no - You used to have a different tick as scum, and then I divulged that, and you broke it.  ;D But I'm pretty confident in this one - so, once I post it at game-end, I expect it won't last another game further. C'est la Vie. Like Mail-Mi said earlier, I'm playing for this game, not future ones.

What's the benefit of revealing it at the end of the game as opposed to now?

Alright, might as well claim. Not really worried about being lynched, but think it's in town's best interest to have more knowledge at this point:

I'm Anthony Walker, Delusional Humanist. I'm technically third-party, a Survivor variant. I (generally) have no active PR's, but at night, a random half of the living game's populace is placed into QT with a message about "ridding the Earth of Aliens", and provided a petition to do so (I am not guaranteed to be in this QT, as those of you who got it last night will know). My PR is active whether I am dead or alive (the QT's keep generating, even if I die), and if I can get 4 unique players to sign the petition at night, I can ASK (and it is THEIR CHOICE to accept) another player of my choosing to carry on for me in case of my death. Their alignment and win condition do NOT change if they accept, they simply ALSO bear me my win-condition (note, to be clear, it does NOT impact their win-condition): I win if I (or my Proxy) are alive at the end of the game and there are no Aliens left alive.

At first, I wasn't really sure how to approach this. But Pubby and MiX both flipped Volm (and LaLight Human). All were Town. This leads me to believe that Scum!Aliens at this point are worth more to me to lynch than Town!Aliens. As I do not have a killing ability, the only ways for me to dispose of Aliens are to lynch them, or hope they're killed at night. Realistically though, and for the most part, I'm Vanilla hoping my win condition gets met.

Last night, 1 player (I'm not provided names, just numbers) signed the petition from the QT to "Rid the Earth of Aliens".

Why claim? Because my role is - and I use this humorously based on D1 conversations - "boring". I have nothing to do! I want SOME town dead, yes, but I don't know who and have no way of finding out. Same goes for scum. Hell, assuming they're not all Aliens themselves, I don't even actually CARE which of town/scum wins... as long as the Aliens in both factions are dead.

If you're an Alien, and you're town, sorry, I want you dead. But I can't DO anything about it except lynch you and hope you get NK'd by scum. If you're an Alien, and you're scum, well - sorry, but I also want you dead. Except I can't even really hope that town magically kills you at night. So the only way I have to get rid of you is by lynching you.

So I guess... yeah. That's why I'm claiming - because given MiX & Pubby's flip, I'm FAR more interested in lynching scum at this point than I am at lynching town - and I think that knowledge (who/what I am) is better served being public than being private.

Incidentally, this is why I've had such a hard time getting in to this game. Being third party like SK is generally a much more active PR. You have decisions to make. Things to do. You often control some sort of outcome - even when it's not explicitly your own.

Survivor... Just wants to live. He doesn't generally care who lives/dies. I don't believe (someone check me? I've been in a LOT of games in my time) I've ever rolled this alignment. While I'm a variant (that's slightly stronger, as I have a way to win beyond death) of Survivor, I generally have had no incentive to do anything. I can't really Alien Hunt, and even if I could (Ok, there are SOME posts D1 that imply whether certain players may/may no be Aliens), there's nothing I can do even if I "identify" an Alien, as Alien doesn't necessarily mean town or scum - and going "hard" for an Alien that's town isn't exactly a pro-me thing to do.

So... yeah. I've been having trouble engaging. My reads have been genuine, because my default when not scum is to scum-hunt... but I just generally haven't cared all that much.

We're probably going to want to have the members of that QT claimed, and then we should have a claim of who signed the petition.

To the first question: No advantage, no. No harm either. This would be the only advantage to not claiming... kind of? I could try and spin there to be an advantage that doesn’t exist? In the end it only helps me potentially reach my win condition. So if the offer is made at some point in the future - well, up to you if you care or not.

To the second question: Yes

Small clarification (don’t think it matters, but in the spirit of completeness): I can’t ask ANY player to take on as my Proxy in case of death - I can only ask from the list of players that have signed the petition.

Knowing how these setups work, I have a feeling we have another third party who is interested in the eradication of human life, or at the very least the survival of aliens.

Do you have more information as to how the petition thing works?

As in how many people need to sign it?

Or is it just a majority among the players in the group that matters?

What does it passing do?

PPE - ah, signing lets you choose them. So there is nothing to pass?

Do you only learn who signed, not who didn’t?

I wonder if players who don’t sign are added to a list of players that my imaginary third party can jump to.

I'm doubtful that this is generally how these setups work. When I ran iZombie Mafia, the third party (who wanted only Zombies alive) was very fixated on the idea of a team that wants to kill all Zombies. But such a team did not exist.

I think Galzria is generally telling the truth, obviously some things are confirmable with the QT and everything. I also think that there are things he's not telling us. In particular, I would be very surprised if all there was to the petition was giving Galzria a proxy to carry on if he dies; that seems like way too much mechanics for something that could have been implemented in a much easier fashion.

So I think I want to leave my vote on Galzria until he tells us the whole truth.

What's the benefit of revealing it at the end of the game as opposed to now?

seconding this question. why should i vote didds based on what the survivor promises to tell me after game's end?

The players in the QT are a random half of living players rounded down.

According to my PR, each player is asked to “sign a petition promising to help eradicate the Earth of all Aliens”, or something to that affect. I’m not actually sure exactly how it’s worded.

I need a minimum of 4 unique signatures before my ability to ask a player to be my proxy activates. At this point I can ask any of the players who have signed to be my proxy in the case of my death.

I do not learn WHO, only the NUMBER of unique signatures. One person signed last night.

Don’t know what to tell you. Take it up with Ash after the game. Or maybe I will. He doesn’t publish his MOD QT’s though - but I usually publish my personal ones. I told him pre-game the role seemed bland - but I would withhold judgement as I didn’t really know what the situation was with Aliens in terms of alignment.

Actually, this seems strange to me.

Yeah. If I have 4 signatures (or more) I can ask a player to become my Proxy. I can only ask if they’ve signed the petition. But I don’t know who has signed, only the number. Hum. Hold tight - going to ask Ash to clarify this.

Small correction:

One Third of living players are invited to the QT each night, not one half. My bad. I read it N0 and hadn’t circled back to my QT since then.
