So this moves the promo's release date back to "completely unknown", correct?
Yes, but I've seen the final image and I bet it's being printed in the USA, so it shouldn't be that much later.

I'm going on a hunger strike until this promo becomes available. Let's see just how long it takes then!

I'm hungry... for promos.

Please don't, or Donald might well change the promo last minute into this:

Quote
Grand Feast
$5 - Action

Trash this. Gain a card costing up to $6.

This particular edge case has 4 edges.

Fortunately this is made up for by the fact that with Feast in the supply it's an obligatory piledrive.

Yes, but I've seen the final image and I bet it's being printed in the USA, so it shouldn't be that much later.

The German RGG Dominion Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/dominionwelt) announced "a new promo card" for Essen 2014, FWIW. But maybe the English version comes earlier...

together with the publisher Rio Grande Games we are currently analyzing the possibility to publish the game Essen 2014 exclusive DOMINION-Fanedition with a selection of high quality finished cards and divider cards for all previously released card types. For this we need your feedback and opinion:
Which Kingdom cards are your favorite cards? Tell us your opinion so that we can integrate the most popular and important for you cards in this Fanedition. Here you are, of course, not limited to a single edition - because the mix is.
Tell us until June 15, 2014 your opinion - then the decision is made, as your exclusive Fanedition will look in Essen.

Your team of the Dominion World

Looks like a "Best Of" collection from all expansions?

First I've heard of it.

I would think a set of cards chosen to work well together would be better, like the Japanese rethemes. I guess the new German publisher is kind of antsy, trying to make sure things are happening.

Huh, looks like they've also released an expansion version of Intrigue (no extra base cards).

I don't really see the appeal of the Fan Edition that's redundant with the other sets. I mean I get the appeal from the publisher's perspective, but not from the consumer's perspective.

Surely a fan expansion is something that can get the consumer excited.

You know, Donald X. spent a lot of time deciding on the best way to group the cards into the expansions. Can we really expect a bunch of fans in remote locations voting on the "best hits" to do better?

when I said "a fan expansion", I had a particular fan expansion in mind. LastFootnote's Enterprise is pretty popular here I think, but it remains to be seen if LastFootnote will finalize it./spoiler]

I have been playing a lot of The Dwarf King and Piña Pirata lately. Also Infiltration, which I recently picked up. I will do my best to get some good Enterprise/Activation playtesting in before/during the Chicago f.DS meetup.

EDIT: Huh, apparently URLs show up through spoilers. Go figure!

Yes, this "Fan Edition" seems a little strange - most of the Facebook comments to it are negative too.  ;)
And yes, they recently released an Intrigue expansion version; but it seems to cost more than the old Intrigue edition did. ::)
They have also now started to sell the new Base cards, but for the price of a full game (~25€)...

They're desperate to make money and someone is going to buy it.

Well it seems fine if you retheme it, again like the Japanese rethemes. Otherwise yeah, it only has value for people who don't buy everything.

Not just that. It makes every other expansion a lower-value proposition.

I'm sure that's what they would prefer, since they asked if they could do such a thing (and I said no). For me a fan expansion is all of the work of an expansion I make except the part where I get to make up cards.

The closest I could see myself getting is co-authoring an expansion with another game designer.
