Title: DMII--battle for the saucepan
Post by: shraeye on March 03, 2013, 02:14:11 am
Yeah, this got a title and everything.  As with other drunk-mafia games, each player signing up has received a #.  These numbers aren't given randomly.

The setup will be posted, and any players with unique roles will be identified via their number.  Players whose numbers are not identified will be vanilla townies.

Players:
1. raerae
2. Galzria
3. TheMunch
4. Archetype
5. Axxle
6. Morgrim

The game has begun:

The following roles are in use:
1 Godfather
1 Mafia Goon
4 Townies

Rules of play:
1. There is no Night phase.
2. If the godfather is lynched at any point, town immediately wins.
3. Mafia wins when there are at least as many mafia as townies.
4. Town wins when all mafia are dead, or when the godfather has been lynched

There will be no flavor; I will reveal alignments upon death.

Player #36 is the Godfather (I will be PMing you the identity of your partner shortly)
Player #64 is the Mafia Goon (I will be PMing you the identity of your partner shortly)

Fun fact, players were not assigned numbers randomly.

As last time; if no decision has been reached at deadline, Random.org will decide on a living player to lynch.  No vote requirements for this, no nothing.  Just pure random chance.  Gotta love chaos.

Also, note that there is NO vengekill upon lynching.

Only skimmed the last game, so I don't really know what you mean. But if it's true, it's a change in stance which usually means a change in alignment.

Back on serious topics:

Unvote

Munch is much less likely to be scum than any of Arch/Morg/Rae in my mind.

Arch for throwing down an easy second vote that seems innocent, but fully aware Morgrim is playing.

Morgrim for... Well... Because fuck it he can't be town every damn game!

Raerae because I actually believe in reverse OMGUS as being more of a scum tell than OMGUS...

and when you boil Munch's first vote on me down, it was basically OMGUS from last game - which I don't see scum !munch really doing. So.

About reverse OMGUS: I find Munch to be right on this. Scum don't like to make waves (they will, but it's not ideal for them). They do much better and are much happier nodding along with "confirmed" (to them) townies. Makes them look better if/when said townie gets killed.

That said, Raerae wasn't really "nodding along", but being more a voice of common sense.

The person I've got little on is Axxle. And that raises my suspicion. Vote: Axxle

Most of the voting and unvoting has been for Morgrim, some for me, and we're at one vote each spread between Morgrim, me, and Munch.  I can't help but thing the vote on me from Munch is hangover from last game and the morgrim vote is...a vote on morgrim...Galz, do you have a case on Munch or was that RVS?

Did #66 clear up where I'm at? My vote on Munch wasn't serious, no. My vote on Axxle is.

Yeah, I almost never review posts posted while I was posting before I post.

I've just gone cross-eyed. Stop that! I've had to much to drink to sort that out.

Reeeeads:

Raerae: scummy for the flipped views on things.

Munchies: Towny! Haven't quite figured out why yet. Something about catching Raerae in her flipped views.

Morgrim: Null I guess. Just going off of WIFOM of shraeye making Morgrim scum or not

Galzria: Null, but leaning scum. Seems a bit too straightforward.

Axxpe: Null. Can't remember what he's said besides laying down votes.

Scum list (from biggest scum read to least):

1. Raerae
2. Axxle
3. Morgrim
4. Galzria
5. Munch
6. Me

Guys, let's think about this.  I've had both Shraeye and Munch to learn how to play scum from...is this really what I would do?  This is a poor choice.  Munch, this is solid hangover from me catching you last time.  Archetype, your vote is sheepy at best.  Who else is on me?

Ok, your first vote was on Arch in RVS.

And your second was on Morgrim (although that hit L-1).

But still... This thread lacks an Axxle, and it concerns me.

Galz, what has you convinced Axxle is scum?

He had a total of 7 posts D1. 6 at the time I called him out.

3 of those posts were votes, two of which had the appearance of "joke" votes (one on Archetype in RVS, one on Morgrim start of page 4 (2 if you do 50/p like me)). The Morgrim vote got all the way up to L-1 before dissipating.

His third vote was on Raerae. It was vote #2 (note: Raerae was wrong in claiming Arch sheeped here, although right in spirit, I suppose), but it DID come shortly after Arch listed Raerae as his #1 suspect.

Now consider: Axxle knows that's vote #2. He knows Arch is likely to vote his top suspect. He knows Morgrim will hammer. It was an easy vote to push the lynch through.

Further, the lack of posts is the lack of making waves. Everybody was focused on You, Raerae, Arch, Morgrim, hell, even me early on. Where was Axxle? Nowhere. Where does scum like to be? Swept under the carpet and forgotten.

That switch was indeed, crazy scummy.  But that's the problem with this Godfather lynch=auto win.  It helps mitigate the small edge that scum have mathematically (this game is balanced 7/15 for town, 8/15 for scum if everytyhing goes random)

Anybody up for some DM in an hour or two? I'm two Pliny the Elder's  and two Supplication's (Russian River, both) in, and I've got Eye of the Hawk (Mendocino), Racer 5 (Bear Republic), and Sumtin' Sumtin' (Lagunitas) at home. Plus plenty of Gin (I feel obligated to add Vermouth here, although barely a sniff will find it's way to my glass later) for countless Martini's.

So. Who's in? I'll preclaim scum.

Why would you want to be sober enough not to drunk post? That seems backwards!

I'm good for tomorrow. I don't work until Monday, so I'm ready to rock. Sounds like Raerae will be in too, which makes at least 3. The more the merrier!

Haha, it's relatively easy. Written for a (relatively bright) 10 year old who loves Geocaching and has been fascinated by both the Logica & LJS hunts. It's an Easter Egg hunt (idea brought around by TACTH's March newsletter), but specifically at his home. It's 3 pages, and combines simpler versions of many of the puzzles from Logica and LJS (since he read those solutions and that's what he'll naturally look for).

Keeps him entertained. (In case you're wondering, he is indeed my younger brother. I was an only child for... Almost 20 years before my mother decided to have two more)

We should play the Dethy (http://wiki.mafiascum.net/index.php?title=Dethy) setup. Have always wanted to try it and should work well in blitz.

We should figure out a way to tip it towards Mafia a little more if we do end up running it.

Shraeye is thinking (I'm on the phone and typing as fast as I can) that Dethy is good for Game2 because drunks trying to figure that out is hilarious.  CrushA would be fun too (or CrushB, there is debate as he isn't at his computer), I think the first step is figuring out how many people are playing.
