Title: Building a Chrome Extension for Dominion Online - Any Ideas?
Post by: yanus on August 08, 2020, 06:54:45 pm
Hi community!

I'm a Dominion fan. I played a lot at home with my roommates and recently started playing it online.

I noticed that the online version has a sidebar that displays all players' actions. It could be easy to create a chrome extension that keeps track of players' decks and shows stats for each one.

Some ideas:
* Deck size: total number of cards in each deck.
* Buying power: How many golds and silvers they have.

What do you think? Is this idea interesting to develop it? What other stats would you like to see?

Thanks for your feedback :)

Automatically tracking the cards in your deck is considered cheating by the current rules. Personally I'm not against the idea if *everyone* had it, but only giving it to people who use an extension is unfair.

There are a few things I would appreciate though:
- A number showing how many cards are in hand
- A number showing how much basic money $ is in hand

What would be cool is if the extension could save the game log so it'd be visible after the game's end. displaying the contents of each deck at the end of the game. (That might be the only thing I miss about Making Fun's version.)

A Chrome extension that tracks deck contents in an online Dominion client? No way could such a thing ever be controversial or lead to pages and pages of debate and secret emails between tournament organizers and forum posters that ultimately result in top players forfeiting the tournament in protest.
