Ok, a question about Trader, if I have 3 buys, $0, and Trader in hand, can I try to buy three Coppers, reveal Trader, and pick up 3 Silvers instead?
-
Yes.
-
And in a very specific edge case, if Silvers are empty, you can reveal Trader to gain nothing instead of Copper. Useful when triggering things that happen "when you buy a card" like Goons or Merchant Guild.
-
However, you can't do this if there are no coppers or curses (or other $0 card) in the supply.

Unless you have some cost reduction due to Bridge/Highway/...

Thanks, ya'll, just double checking.

If there are no Coppers or Curses or Silvers in the supply, the game is usually over.

Not if it's still your buy phase.

Or a 5-6 player game.

Good point — if it's a 5-6 player game, it's not usually over (any time soon, at least).

Why would anyone ever play Dominion with 5-6 players? The horror.

Of course, to be able to buy out the Curses and Coppers to stop your opponent doing the Trader-no-Silver trick.

Also, Celestial Chameleon, when he's emptying the supply in 0 turns--or Chuck Norris, who can do so while all the cards are still in the box on a shelf.
