Hey, lets make a list of mechanics that were declared as "will never happen" at one point or another!
- A card costing (http://wiki.dominionstrategy.com/images/thumb/b/bc/Coin7.png/16px-Coin7.png)
- A card costing more than (http://wiki.dominionstrategy.com/images/thumb/4/47/Coin8.png/16px-Coin8.png)

- A card that lets you gain things from the trash
- A card that lets you trash cards from the supply
- An action-treasure card
- Duration-attacks
-
A card that gains the player a Curse
-
A card that instantly trashes the entire deck. Not even Forge can achieve this since you're still left with Forge.
A card that trashes Victory Cards.
-
A card you can play when it's not your turn.
A card that lets you return to your Action phase.
-
Tresure attacks
Durations that stay out for more than two turns
- A card that lets you gain things from the trash
Theif did this before it was cool.

Workshop could already do that. :)
-
A card that does stuff between turns.
-
A card that does stuff between turns.
Outpost etc. kinda do that though.
-
I'm sure people have said there would never be anything along the lines of bidding.
-
A card letting you fling stuff at the board.
-
A catapult
-

Raze trashes itself. In a ruling by Donald, one singular card can be shuffled. As a result of this, a singular card can be an entire deck. In a deck containing simply Raze, Raze trashes itself, i.e. the entire deck.
In fact, Mining Village did this before it was cool. And then Pillage (with a delayed effect).
-
-A pile with more than one kind of card in it
-A way to give negative (http://wiki.dominionstrategy.com/images/thumb/9/92/VP.png/16px-VP.png) other than Curses
-A card that makes you discard down to 2

Feast did it even before Mining Village.

But Feast was a mandatory gain, so it simply replaced itself.

This is actually a preview of Shuffle iT, which already has the next two expansions programmed in, one of which introduces a way to empty the Event piles.

And, the Avatars. The best thing about Dominion Online, of course.

One more thing that will "never happen": Something costing less than $5 that's strictly better than Silver. And it ended up costing $2.

That could be a whole wide variety of things, and all of those things depend on the board. There are 'generals', but nothing definite 100% of the time. There are so many things that cost below $5 that are better than Silver.
