I like how the very next entry is an appearance of "Bad at Dominion Greg" in the wild:

A huge signature including a pretty big youtube video is extremely annoying, would you mind changing it to a link or something smaller that does not get in the way of one browsing the actual thread contents?

TRASH UP TO 4 CARDS

(By the way, I ought to credit the source: that model of a Gothic cathedral made out of garbage cans is by sculptor John Notten; its title is "Shrine", and it appeared in Toronto's Nuit Blanche arts festival last night. The photos and Dominion joke are mine.)

(The lamps on the inside are made of soda cans!)

Ok, thanks to you both. I didn't see that it changed the signature like this.

I thought the point of the meme was that he says that about things which are at best mildly dangerous...

In the movie, wasn't he playing blackjack when this happened? Like, the antagonist has 17, and then hits even though it's risky, but still wins. Austin only has 5, but says this and chooses to stay anyway, despite being guaranteed a loss.

I know of course that memes' contexts often change over time. But it seems like considering it's a direct reference to another card game there should be a close Dominion analogy. My brain is too fried from work though to think of anything funny right now haha

Indeed, the point is that he stands on 5, which is not "dangerous" so much as "nonsensical."  The action taken could not possibly have been the correct one.

You bought no cards on turns 1 and 2?  I too like to live dangerously.

Edgiest edge-case I can think of: You want to build a crazy engine with $5+ cards and only one Silver, which you already have off your opponents Embassy-buy. And it is so important not to get more Silver, that you risk it not to get to $5 next shuffle.
Ok, I think this will never happen ;-)

The bad guy in the blackjack game has knowledge of the top of the deck, so he knows he won't lose if he hits - seems like there should be an even more accurate Dominion analogy with deck-tracking. (Of course, he did get this knowledge by cheating...)

Here's what's in my mine... no, my mint ! Noooo, my mind :
I can't help but think to dwarves when I see the original Mine.
And I can't help but think to some little girl when I see Mint.
And I can't help but think how I miss Scout jokes when I see Mine/mint jokes.

Chocolate is like victory points in Dominion. Both taste good but they'll hurt you if you eat too much of it instead of something else in your early days.

Reminds me of when the prosperity cards were first posted on BGG...the poster made a typo and put "Mind" in place of "Mint".

Should create a whole mini expansion with cards like Mine, Mind, Mint, Mink, Mime, Mist, Mitt...

I was thinking of submitting one of these to the next Prosperity contest.  ::)

Mime, 5$, Action
Discard a Treasure Card. Gain a Treasure Card costing up to 3$ more than it, putting it in your hand.

When you buy this, the player to your left names a Treasure Card you have in play. Gain a copy of it.
