Not possible.  5 Silver is not enough for a Colony.

I think the point was that the KC-Mountebank player might have an economy that can get to $11 in the next few turns, but the Trader-Watchtower player does not - making the Trader-Watchtower plan not seem so smart after all.

Ahhh. :P

A while back I played against a quite high ranked player who kept using Upgrade to upgrade Mountebank into a Border Village, gaining another Mountebank.  It was a cute trick, but unfortunately it meant he never got to play Mountebank often enough and I won the curse split, and in turn the game, quite handily.

Here's a fun situation that happened to me twice today in a Colony game with Feodum, Watchtower and Rebuild.

  • Opponent plays Militia, I discard so I only have Watchtower + Rebuild + Something in hand.
  • I play Rebuild trashing a Feodum, topdecking 3 Silvers with Watchtower, replacing it with another Feodum, which I trash with Watchtower, topdecking 3 more Silvers.
  • I then play the Watchtower drawing 6 Silvers and buy a Colony.

I kept the other 4 Feodums for myself after having gained so many Silvers. :)

What a shame.  One more buy and you could have bought a Copper, boosting your Fairgrounds up two points.

No big news here, and it was a while ago, but I finally saw a board where I was able to put this together: Scrying Pool + Worker's Village + Vault + Strong Trashing. I was just a couple of dollars short of piledriving colonies, but I still unlocked a few achievements there :-D

Golden Deck without Chapel - always wanted to do this and now it's done'd! I made a pretty bad mistake on turn 13 playing Bishop before Bazaar, slowed me down for two turns, but in the end I was fast enough.

I almost pulled this off once: build an attack proof golden deck with Bishop, Gold, Gold, Moat. Lighthouse works too. (trash the gold for points not provinces)

Mandarin shenanigans to guarantee three consecutive Provinces and then a Duchy.

Hand of Gold, Silver, Copper, Treasureworth2, HoP ensures a Province every turn.

I assume you're talking about having Mandarin available?

Played two Develops, developing two silvers into two Treasure Map, a Haven and a Herbalist. The next turn I put the Herbalist in the Haven and trashed my Maps. Third turn allowed me to buy a Province and a Gold and then return a played Gold back to my deck. Having Developed most of my coppers already it was a fast game after that.

I think that's the only way that would be possible.

But if we play Gold, Silver, Copper, Venture (Venture finds Bank) then Horn of Plenty (Gain the Mandarin), we can then buy a Colony every turn till the end of game or the Mandarin Pile is emptied.

I'm not really sure if this counts, but I've enjoyed passing Rats to bots on Goko using Masquerade. In my experience they tend to play it whenever they draw it and quickly destroy their own deck. I don't think a human would fall for it as badly, but could still be fun to play on newer players (such as myself .___.)

Funny. I typed out a long question asking why having the mint in the first place would be useful to a treasure-less conspirator engine, before it slowly dawned on me that it's pretty spectacular at destroying treasure on buy .___.

I just woke up - that's my excuse.

Forged a Tactician into a Market. Made sense at the time, Tact + Forge has thinned my deck, I had enough income to buy a Province every turn, and with Scheme I could top deck my Forge every time to Forge a Province so my opponents ability to catch me was diminished while deck remained thin.

--- Jiriki's turn 11 ---
Jiriki plays a Scheme.
... drawing 1 card and getting +1 action.

I remember this game!  was planing to build a doubleTac deck off Mandarin and Market…and like half way through I realized that I didn't have enough actions.
