Let's get this melee started! If you are like me, you agree that there's no better feeling in Dominion than burying your opponents under mountains of junk or annihilating the valuable cards in their carefully-built decks. So what attack do you like the best? Vote now! Seeding is done by Qvist weighted averages. If necessary I will cast tie-breaking votes.

Kill me now.
Yes, but with which attack?
Consider the potential beauty of, maybe this marketing research will help make future Dominion expansions better.

I don't want to get Tortured or Cursed or anything nasty. I want it to be quick. I think a Knight will do nicely. It's quick, easy, and it sounds cool on a tombstone.

Might as well do this at any rate.

Ok, it's been one week! The votes have been tallied, and the results are as follows:
Rabble 20
Thief 3
Jester 19
Saboteur 3
Warrior 9
Pirate Ship 14
Soldier 12
Bureaucrat 11
Cutpurse 20
Spy 3
Giant 17
Fortune Teller 5
Oracle 13
Taxman 10
Relic 14
Rogue 9
Pillage 14
Noble Brigand 9
Turns out people don't like weak attacks, especially Thief, Saboteur, and Spy. Soldier barely wins out over Bureaucrat. Only one upset: Pirate Ship over Warrior.

I don't know swamp hag well enough yet. I like Sea Hag because it's one of the few curses that you'll sometimes choose to delay getting, and that will often lead to non-mirrors. Soothsayer as well.

1 Ambassador
32 Pillage
Both cards are unique, but pillage is meaner. Ambassador is to much of a insta-buy.
2 Mountebank
31 Relic
Same thing. Good cards are to annoying. Relic is interesting and a potent attack.
3 Goons
30 Oracle
I forget what oracle does.
4 Cultist
29 Giant
Down with the good cards.
5 Scrying Pool
28 Cutpurse
I hate cutpurse. It makes your turns suck, and it never hits when I play it.
27 Soldier
Soldier just seems stupid, and I hate followers too. Followers wins simply because It's more brutal.
7 Witch
39 Pirate Ship
Pirate ship is lame, which gives witch the edge.
8 Urchin/Mercenary
25 Jester
GOOOOOOO JESTER! It's banned in 4 or more player games, but it's still a fun card. Prince? Gimme one of those. Platinum? You can have it. JK! BWAHAHAHAHAH!
9 Swindler
24 Rabble
I love messing with people.
10 Torturer
23 Soothsayer
Soothsayer is boring, and torturer is more thematic.
11 Minion
22 Knights
I hate minion. It doesn't seem to have any use and trashing the crap out of an opponent’s deck is fun.
12 Familiar
21 Bridge Troll
Familiar is to luck-based and I don't really like P cards.
13 Sea Hag
20 Swamp Hag
Srsly? These two against each other? Swamp Hag's +$3 gives it the edge.
14 Young Witch
19 Haunted Woods
Bane cards are too much work.
15 Militia
18 Marauder
EDIT: I like militia better. Tough choice.
16 Margrave
17 Ghost Ship
Both interesting attacks, but maragrave takes the win as an attack that doesn't make your opponent’s grumble as much.

Relic pulls off an upset over Mountebank, Witch totally shuts out Pirate Ship, and all 3 Duration Attacks advance. I picked Followers over Soldier because Soldier's attack is mostly inoffensive, being mainly a stepping stone to the better Peasant upgrades, whereas Followers is a massive pain in the rear for anyone on the wrong end of it. I picked Soothsayer over Torturer because Soothsayer tends to require more thought to incorporate into your deck rather than mindless spamming.
The third round contenders are:

What is Cultist even doing here?
People keep voting for it. It's like some sort of cult.
This is for most fun/favorite, right? Because I would obviously vote very differently if it's about power.
Yes. If it were about power then we could just throw out everything but Ambassador/Goons/Cultist/Mountebank and start from there.

Relic is just so much fun. I love having an attack I can't draw dead.
3 Goons
19 Haunted Woods
Haunted Woods can sometimes help your opponent more than it hurts them, in my experience.
4 Cultist
20 Swamp Hag
I really like the choices involved when playing with this card, especially if there's weak or nonexistent trashing.
5 Scrying Pool
21 Bridge Troll
I don't ever get either of these cards for the attack. I love Bridge Troll; it's so easy to get multiples in play at once, even with very few splitters.
22 Knights
I would have voted for Soldier here if it had beaten Followers. Knights are just too weak to pick up a lot of the time.
7 Witch
23 Soothsayer
Tough call here. Neither of these are super fun compared to other Attacks, so I'll probably vote against whoever wins here in the next round.

BOOOOOOOOOO!
The bandwagon effect isn't working, time to switch to plan B.
On a more serious note, Goons is boring because it's and OP card with a random attack stuck on. IMO the attack should have been dropped to add an extra buy and coins.

goons. it does all of the end-of-turn stuff that you want
-
goons. it does all of the end-of-turn stuff that you want
You guys are voting for goons because it's an alt-vp card, not because it attacks. Goons doesn't deserve to win, most of the time the attack is the icing on the cake and it's the VP's your after. It does all the end-of turn-stuff? If it's the last turn the attack means nothing.* Jester's central focus is an attack. And it can get you goons.
*Edge Case: Opponent discarding tunnels to power up his gardens. Or a setup for the pin where you trash his hand of VP cards.

That sounds kind of like a gainer to me. The potential for attack is variable and only sometimes hits. So jester is just a gainer which sometimes happens to attack when it doesn't do it's real job (edge cases with guaranteed cursing accepted, and as an added bonus, I don't really care). Goons is alt-vp which always attacks. Hmmmm.

When it discards Goons from the top of your deck sure you get a goons, but it just prevented you from playing one of your good cards during this shuffle. That could be a sizeable attack if it's the only goons in your deck. Sure, that won't always happen, but 9 times out of 10 it will either discard a good card or junk with a bad one.

Nobody is arguing that Jester is more powerful than Goons. Goons is an OP card that dominates boards in a fun way, but it nevertheless dominates them, and that's no fun in the long run. I mean, I suspect that there are more games where I skip Province than games where I skip Goons.
Jester sounds like an interesting card, oh it doesn't always have the same effect, cool! And tell me more about this weird thing, sometimes you can win without it? What an interesting concept!

Sea Hag.
But to be honest, I think you are missing the point. You claimed that jester was somehow more favoritism-inducing than goons as an attack because the isolated attack from goons is not that interesting. I claim that jester is the same way, and so when you say that goons votes are only for the non-attack and this somehow gives jester some higher ground, you are mistaken. I couldn't care less why I vote for goons, but this as a reason to vote against it is poor.
-
I don't buy jester for the attack either(I buy it to gain good cards)

I guess I get your point. I sill think goons isn't that good of an attack card, it's more of an alt-VP card. But I can see reasons why you would vote it over jester.
-
Jester is not comparable to the other gainers, because you don't really know what you will gain. I see it like a good card that does some random good stuff. It has a really nice and interesting effect. Amazing art. And it's a cornucopia card.
So, Jester.

Goons is a better engine card, and even though the attack is weaker for a $6, the pressure Goons can put on an opposing player is a psychological attack as well. The threat of a game getting out of hand is a powerful weapon.
Goons.
-
I wonder why Jester is everyone's favorite.
We should do a least favorite attack bracket.
-
Goons.
I hate Goons, but "discard to 3" is way better than "maybe gain a card that you want, maybe give your opponent something bad". Compare to Soothsayer "give you a gold, give your opponent something bad.

Well, you're neglecting the part where playing Jester helps your economy this turn, while Soothsayer actively improves your opponent's next turn.
Regarding Goons, it's true that both it and Jester are cards that you often get for the non-Attack part, but in Jester the two parts work well together, while Goons' attack feels very tacked-on, even more so since it wouldn't need it to be an amazing card.

Well, "maybe gain a card that you want, maybe give your opponent something bad" is still a lot better than "give you a gold, give your opponent something bad". After all, the former has a possibility of gaining a card that you actually want.

In a very close vote, Jester is the winner, 13-12!
Jester is unpredictable yet well-balanced (except in 4p+, oh boy) and even when it's very strong, it doesn't make the game suck.
But how about the new attacks, Catapult and Enchantress? How do you think they will measure up? Discuss.
-
I don't want to overreact because I haven't even played with the new cards yet, but Enchantress is top 1.
-
They won't hold up to Goons/Jester, and I want to wait to see the other attacks first.
-
I'm surprised we didn't make a favorite Empires preview card bracket.
-
Jester is my all that great. Surprised to see it win. Although, had I voted, I would have gone with Goons

What a great victory for People who are Right over Folks who are Wrong.

Jester is so much fun. Everything about the card is amazing. It's the closest thing to a perfect card in Dominion. Next game I will start both players with 10 Jesters, and we will play from there :).
Okay, I'll stop gushing about Jester now.

You'll need to buy a lot of Cornucopia sets for that...
-

They both seem top-tier stuff. Catapulting a rocks is very mean. And enchantress, oh man that will really make some people mad. Just imagine playing your tournament to get followers only to receive a cantrip. Or not being able to prince that militia, or not being able to to put teacher on the tavern mat, the list goes on.
