Seems like everyone is requiring images when they judge now. Why?
It's a pain to make the mock-up, then upload it somewhere and post the link here. I don't want to have to make an imgur account just for the weekly design contest.

The primary purpose is to make sure that your effects actually fit on a card and still remain readable. If given instructions for what a card does, I don't mind making a mockup of the card myself personally.
I will take advantage of this offer, thanks, but really this one will fit on a card easily so it seems unnecessary.

I have submitted this one to a contest before, but I figured I already have 2 cards that qualify for this week so why make a new one? Also, we've played with this card several times and we like it.

Is the Moneylender autoplay on by default so you might not notice it? I would double check that.

I'm quite happy with this in some ways, but also something feels wrong with it. And i don't know what it is.
Does anyone have any critisism or feedback?
To me, the thing that feels off is that the bottom half is the same as adding Delay (costing $2 instead of a buy) to the kingdom, and Delay is already in Menagerie.

I would recommend adding +1 Action or +$1 (or maybe both) to this. +1 Buy +$1 is really weak for a $5 Action (even with the on-gain effect). Great way to move the -$2 token though!

EDIT: or make it cost $4 or $3
Pretty sure the card itself is supposed to be very weak because the on-gain is the main effect. Did you notice that it can gain any action in the supply as well as placing the $-2 token?

The project is the original version, and that's (tentatively) my submission, but I just looked at it and thought that doesn't sound like a name for a project. What if I turned it into an Action?  (yes, just because of the name...)

This alternative village would help play terminals so long as they don't cost too much.

This has some of the same rules considerations that I discussed in the Social Climber entry.  The way I see it, Carnival's effect happens by the time it is done playing.  There are even hints to an alternate Priest wording in the retrospective which would have worked just like this. But because the Action playing applies to this too, it is essentially a double Laboratory where you can only follow it up with a card costing $4 or less, which should be that difficult to achieve.  That's way too powerful, and we haven't even touched on the stacking effect by playing more than 1 copy.

I was thinking faust's Social climber might work better as an expensive village going the opposite way, like this:

I mean I do think limiting it to this card's resolution rather than the whole turn is probably cleaner. With +1 Card instead of +3 Cards, it's not a DoubleLab -- Bazaar+ priced at shouldn't ruffle any feathers.

I forgot BryGuy's carnival when I made that post. I think a card with that effect costing $5 is a little awkward since the cards you most want to play usually cost $5. That's why I made my version cost $6.

To implement your suggestions on Lawless Village, how's this?

I admit I'm rather disappointed at the lack of a cheese-themed card to match the Guilds description.
Otherwise, generally good changes all-around.

The Farmhands milk the cow and make cheese. It's a cheese-themed card.

I suggest making the gaining optional.  There will be times when you really want 3 or 4 Actions from this (or just 2 and there's no good $2 cost on the board). Getting +4 Actions from a $4 card is not overpowered, and imo it would just be annoying if you had to junk yourself in order to get more than +1 Action from the card.

I like it, but I think it'd be fine costing $5, and it may still be weak for costing $5.

Village with a small buff is a $4.
Finding the next two action cards in your deck and letting you choose between them is (potentially at least) a pretty big buff. (But still not worthy of costing $6.)

Something kinda silly.
Instead of drawing you a card, it makes the other players discard one. that's just as good, right?   :o
...right? 
(I hope this qualifies even though Villagers instead of +actions is the only "unusual" way to get actions with it.)

I looked through some of this thread recently for nostalgia's sake and was disappointed to discover most of the images and stuff from the first 100 or so* pages of posts are gone. I understand it takes up space somewhere, but it'd be nice for certain threads to be preserved for posterity(?). oh well.

(*I'm just guessing how far it goes. I only glanced through the first ~50 pages of posts.)
