The campaign has some fun things to it. I was thrown off by the escort mission because I didn't realize the guy was flying alongside me. I just thought I was competing against someone else and decked myself out while laughing at his misfortune. Once I realized that the businessman wasn't actually in my ship, I was able to do it correctly.
I had a hilarious encounter on the route told to me by the sleazy guy in the bar. You knew that guns would be needed even though he told you that you they weren't, so I put some guns on my ship. Yay. I didn't realize just how many guns I needed! Got wiped out horribly. Good times. I'll do that mission again later and keep in mind that I need side-facing guns as well. And just ignore cargo space with fewer than three connectors, because I'm going to need a pretty strong infrastructure.
And the lesson there is that in campaign mode, the 1/4 of cards you cannot view ahead of time are not necessarily randomly put aside.
This is literally the best $3 I've spent, and that's only because I haven't been starving in a desert for 10 days and bought a Big Mac afterwards.
