The 'How many Puddings has Ozle eaten tonight' forum game
« on: November 12, 2013, 04:18:07 pm »

Im away on work for business, which includes putting me in a hotel in Manchester for a week, with a £35 evening meal budget.

Now, the hotel restaurant is fairly cheap, main meal only cost me £8 and im only drinking tea or soft drinks.

Now obviously if work are paying im going to take advantage of it.

So i have been here for just over 3 hours now (free wifi in bar, not in room).

So the question is....how many puddings have i ordered and eaten?

If it helps, i skipped breakfast this morning, but had a couple of rolls during the day. And i weight about 9.5 stone.

Go....

...spin-offs are still better for all of the previously cited reasons.
But not strictly better, because the spinoff can have a different cost than the expansion.

According to Wolfram Alpha, there are 410 standard pudding-weights in 9.5 stone. I think I read somewhere that a typical Ozle must consume half his body weight in pudding each day or his heart stops beating. So I estimate 205.

I actually came here to guess that. Unless you are referring to 120, in which case, I guess 5.

Can't answer without the menu.

http://www.tabletable.co.uk/tabletable/our-menus.html

I am suddenly extraordinarily jealous.
Looking at the pudding section I must say that the choice to have the Mini Taster Puddings was spot-on.  Which 3 though?  They all look so good.

Also, the difference in UK English and American English concerning the word "pudding" is interesting.

Quote from: wikipedia aka "the source of all knowledge"
In the United Kingdom and most Commonwealth countries, pudding can be used to describe both sweet and savory dishes. However, unless qualified, the term in everyday usage typically denotes a dessert; in the UK, "pudding" is used as synonym for a dessert course

In the United States and Canada, pudding characteristically denotes a sweet milk-based dessert similar in consistency to egg-based custards, instant custards or a mousse, often commercially set using gelatin or similar collagen agent such as the Jello brand line of products.

It seems you Brits have a much broader view of pudding as opposed to us narrow-minded Americans trying to fit pudding into one little box.

Man. I had four strips of bacon yesterday. Was one automatically undercooked, one automatically overcooked? No, let's put a stop to that right here, all four strips were excellent.
