Top card of your discard pile after Chancellor.

http://wiki.dominionstrategy.com/index.php/Chancellor

Your discard pile is ordered.  In particular, the top card of your discard pile is public information, and there are certain "Lose Track Rule" interactions with the order.

When you discard a card, you place it on top of your discard pile.  The same when you gain a card.  But what about Chancellor?  The wording says that you put your deck "into" your discard pile.  The FAQ further specifies that you may not look through your deck while putting it into your discard pile.  So how is the order determined?  Do the cards from your deck go on top of your discard pile, and if so which card goes on top and is thereby publicly revealed?  Or should I interpret "into your discard pile" to mean that the cards from your deck go under the top card of your discard?

I always thought you'd just flip your deck over and put it on top of your current discard.

So the bottom card of your deck would become the top card of your discard pile.

I think you are correct in spotting a gap in the rules. Theoretically, information could be hidden from an opponent by pulling a stash, say, from your draw deck and putting that on top of the discard pile when performing the chancellor action. However the common sense interpretation is clear- to flip your draw deck and put it into the discard - and that almost certainly has to be the house rule if you really need a house rule.

Maybe you should just put your deck into your discard pile, face down, no flip.

Maybe you should just put your deck into your discard pile, face down, no flip.

That, or you have to keep the order of your discard the same as the order of your deck. Meaning you have to move 1 card at a time.

I think this is how you should do it (I happened to have a deck of MtG cards nearby, so I used that to demonstrate the point):

That's basically what I was suggesting.

That ehow article almost has actual good advice, but it fails to note that you should basically never buy chancellor. All of the play instructions are reasonable.

You guys should have thought about this when you selfishly drove Donald away by complaining about the badness of a bad product.

Obviously I take full and complete responsibility for this.
