I believe that they are in order of release, if I am not mistake. I would assume then that the card missing is from Hinterlands, but maybe Cornucopia.

They're not, unfortunately: Treasury is from Seaside.

Hint: The connection has nothing to do with what the cards do, but everything to do with Dominion.

There are actually two missing:  Laboratory and Gold, which both come in between Island and Fortune Teller.

Yes, I needed that last hint.  But then it immediately fell into place.

One could also fit Province in after Gold, and before Fortune Teller, were one to be all-inclusive of the text.

Neat puzzle! Never ever ever would have gotten this without hints.

Secret history of this puzzle: I came up with it on the train on the way home from buying Cornucopia. What else would I do but read the box a bunch of times? I noticed the three Cornucopia card names and wondered what other ones were in the other game descriptions. I looked it up when I got home and found that there were relatively few, at least compared to Cornucopia (although lots compared to other game descriptions which have fewer card names).
