So much shuffling.  Is there any help for it?

Get everyone who's playing the game to shuffle a few piles? That's what we usually do, and it works for Base. Alternatively, as some people play it, don't shuffle much or at all and assume that the piles are sufficiently randomised from the last time you played.

Yes, apart from castle cards lumped by metalscoring I cannot really think of blatant examples of "unshuffling". I think it helps to shuffle after the game if you feel the current game would betray the card sequence of future games. Also, I haven't tried this solution but I presume it would shorten setup time by quite a margin.

Yeah, we always feel the cards are shuffled enough during sorting them back out after the game.
